  • My sons and I are watching the game right now on DVR.  A couple of things that you may or may not remember or may or may not have realized because of the excitement!

    1)  WOW, the refs tried EVERYTHING they could to steal that one from us.  I know that we are all "homers" here, but man, I don't know how anyone could watch this game as an independent observer and not be appalled by the officiating.

    2)  If there is/was any doubt about Frank Giardina's allegiances, now or at the time of this game, you just need to watch this game.  I know it's been debated whether we would "shift" our loyalty if the paycheck was big enough, but he is just an ounce away from being "anti-Marshall" in this telecast.  I'm not sure if he'd already become a QU'eer lackey at this point or if this was his audition --- but as much as I like Frank, it's painful to listen to him suck up to them and tHuggins.  Sickening.

With that said, watching the 2010-2011 team achieve to their potential in this game, and knowing the potential of the 2011-2012 team, you can't help but get EXTREMELY fired up for basketball season to get here!

Go Herd!  And I for one am VERY proud to be a Herrion Addict!

"When you take that field today, you've got to lay that heart on the line, men. From the souls of your feet, with every ounce of blood you've got in your body, lay it on the line until the final whistle blows. And if you do that, if you do that, we cannot lose."

  • Agree on the attempted robbery.

When the Marshall player was quoted after the game as saying, "We knew they were coming [back]." I assumed he meant just the 5 in piss-yellow. Not the 8 otherwise attired people  on the court.

  • We destroyed them.
No doubt much of it had to do with Herrion coaching. He's seen how Dixon works and he knows exactly what formations to run. I think a fortunate thing is Jamie's had a ton of experience and scouts to help out Herrion. Not to take anything away from Tom because it takes good coaching to execute all you learn.

I recall wvu fans complaining about how they got screwed on fouls when Marshall had more fouls, including the end when wvu had to foul!
The best complaint I read was they blamed the rims at the Civic Center! Both teams use both rims!

Just imagine if Marshall hadn't had the refs helping wvu. It really could've gotten beautiful, or ugly if you're a wvu fan, haha!

  • That game was the most blatant attempt at a screw job as I have ever seen.  If it had not been for the refs we wouldve laid a 20 point ass whipping on those babies, and they know it.

  • The reason Wvu came back was because we bridled our offense and allowed them free reign on the interior(as in several games JMU,St. Bonnie, every team that had a big man)without an adjustment.Giardina was over the top politically correct.
