EDITOR'S NOTE: This is the 19th in a series of previews on West Virginia and Marshall football opponents.

Date with Marshall: Saturday, Nov. 12, TBA (Fox Sports Net)

Site: H.A. Chapman Stadium (30,000, FieldTurf)

    Coach: Bill Blankenship (1st year)

    Checking them out

Coach Todd Graham exited suddenly after going 36-17 in four years, filling the unexpected vacancy at Pitt (assist goes to Mike Haywood). Bill Blankenship has never been a coordinator and spent two decades in Oklahoma high school ball before joining Graham's staff in 2007.

But he doesn't have to rebuild. Offensively, the best thing he and offensive coordinator Greg Peterson can do is to leave well enough alone - under quarterback GJ Kinne, the Golden Hurricane averaged 506 total yards and 41.4 points. There were no stat-padding overtimes, if you're wondering.
