  • Plenty of reason to expect wins and fun. I wouldnt think about trading the yr to come for those blow outs over the lower MAC teams. That said, prob 10 games will be decided late in 2nd half.

That's the way it is every year and has been for the last 8 years.....

A look at our future schedule always seems to look like five wins and 7 toss up games....

Honestly, we could win 5 or we could win 10....I'm praying for some solid offense this year.....

  • My gut says one more year on the bowl bubble and then we make our run for the title the year after. This year is going to be very interesting. I love this schedule.

Exactly. To our benefit this year the Houston and Tulsas are in Huntington. If we can get over the Purdue hump we SHOULD be off and rolling for the season. If not and we are 2-3 after it could be a 6-6 type season. But first We gotta beat OU at home and go into Purdue 3-1. Leave 4-1 and we are sitting pretty heading in the second half of the year.

  • What I love is that Houston and So Miss both lost their coaches which is huge. There are several toss up games though, I think we have a good year.

Problem is, if we don't win CUSA thia year, then we never really will win CUSA. (I want to win a title while the strong teams are here, beating UTSA and UNCC doesn't do it in my eyes.)

  • Other than WVU, WCU and Memphis; every game this year is a toss up. We'll be fine. We are moving forward and getting better.

No chance UAB has a team that competes this year, but I'd be scared if we are good playing them after last years UAB team.

  • I thought the Bowl win made 7 wins.....guess that doesnt count....and Tulsa, Houston, Ohio and UCF were all road games with crackerjack QBs..diff story this yr. And we get to trade VT at home with WCU. The away games at ECU and USM same thing.....their 2/3 yr starting QB is gone. They have 14/12 returning starters, we have 13 and a returning QB.

  • Regular season.

To beat Tulsa, Houston, and Ohio, we have to improve between 5-6 touchdowns per game.

We scored 5 touchdowns in only ONE game last year.

  • I can see about the same score in the MU/OU match up this year.............only reversed.  Actually I don't see any reason to not expect to go undefeated in the JOan, that is six wins right there.  Get a couple on the road and we have a very good year.

I hear ya' WHF...there will be extra incentive to beat OU.  Hopefully, the players improve physically, mentally and can avoid any major injuries.

If you've been reading my posts for several years, then you should be aware that whether pessimist or optimist, last year or the last 7 years, I 've closely predicted the results of each year. The farthest I've been from being correct was Docs first year when I predicted 7 wins and we got 5. I figured any coach worth his salt could win more than snides. And unless the coaching staff improves, there's not going to be a whole lot to look forward to unless you attend games for pre-game activities. After 2 years, doc has not improved on snides last year as far as wins are concerned.

Doc has improved on recruits and in any league stock piling talent is not bad. Snyder wasn't in Seider and Leggs league in recruiting. This is the most athletic back 7 we have had in a long time. I'm not sure if we should say front 4 is tbd either... We all know Taylor can play and Aiken can rush. If it comes down to it against passing teams we can finally run a 3-3-5 like they have tried forever with the speed on the field. while using Ken Smith, Sparrow, Brooks, Dillon as a DT for any team who wants to run. (OU)

We will be fine in the Joan, just gotta win the road games.

  • I can't see less than 7 regular season wins.
