GRANT TRAYLORThe Herald-DispatchHUNTINGTON -- When Marshall's Thundering Herd meets Western Carolina on Saturday, it will be a matchup of football teams that seem miles apart.Marshall moved up to NCAA Division I-A in 1997, thus leaving the Southern Conference and the Catamounts behind.While this is the first contest between the teams in 16 years, the teams have a storied history behind them. The all-time series between the teams stands at 9-9-2 -- an impressive mark considering the Herd was 0-8-2 in the first 10 meetings.Following is a look at some of the games and memorable performances in the 20-game series.
