  • You guys have certainly imploded on eachother and your team rather quickly.  So much for you guys going 10-2 this season huh?  IMHO, if you guys would stop building yourselves up all spring and summer, you wouldn't be so frickin let down week after week.  Stop living in Pennington and Moss's shadow, start winning with who/what you have, and you'll get wins, recruits and respect.

PS...where is everyone that was predicting WVU to go 8-4 or 7-5?  5 weeks in, Geno is still the front runner for the Heisman and putting up better numbers than RG3 did at this point last year.  But I guess he's just a poor mans Pat White huh?

  • I'm sorry, but what barrel are you talking about? Is this another Huntington 'inside' joke? Because so far the only thing close to a barrel I've seen this year is the Herd, and so far almost everyone you've faced has been standing over you, just firing away, and hitting something everytime they squeeze the trigger.
And why in the hell are you guys screaming for Docs head? He can and will be a good coach for you guys, but your entire defensive staff needs to go.
Look at Cato, that kid is a %^&* beast, but you guys need to get it done on all 3 sides of the ball.  Give him another year or two, he'll be fine.  Just throwing it out there..RichRod didn't start off with Michigan beating his door down, it took him a while, and he started off horribly.  But look where WVU is now less than a decade after his first real signature win against VaTech..number 4 in the country half way through the season with 2(possibly 3) Heisman contenders.
Now we all know that it's a long shot that Marshall will ever get to that level, but with the talent you have/bring in, I see no reason you couldn't win CUSA and a decent bowl almost every year.
Now, believe it or not, I actually am somewhat of a Herd fan, even though 97% of your fan base either "had" or "knew someone that had" a bad experience with a WVU fan, and therefore assumes that all of us act like dicks. Simply not the case, but it makes your entire city look bad when you wish nothing but ill will towards a school you no longer play, and actually brings recognition towards the entire state, as well as Marshall.  That'd be like us claiming, as truth, that all of your cheerleaders parents are drunken redneck hilljacks that like to start fights and sucker punch people in the stands.  As well as trespass and carry concealed weapons.  We know thats not the case, so why can't you all admit it too?  And the whole 'Well Doc recruited Geno' argument, who %^&* cares?  Did he or didn't he recruit Cato, who is quite possibly right up there on the same level as Smith?  Again, use what you have, and stop crying about what you don't.
BTW, it also makes you look semi-braindead when you start a thread about the number 4 team in the country(ok ok, number 8 when the thread was started) and say that the game was handed to them, they got lucky, and whatever other garbage you guys want to spew off.  Fact is, WVU and it's ignorant hilljack redneck drunken fan base, just gave UT(yeah, Texas, one of the most storied programs in the history of college football) the largest crowd they've ever seen, and beat them in their own house for their first road game in once of the 3 best conferences in the country.  Also, after checking out the UT message boards, they've had NOTHING but nice things to say about the team and the fans.  It seems that only people I ever hear complaining about 'who' fans are all of you 'moo' fans.

  • It seems like I just came on here and said I support BOTH teams in the state, and offered a few opinions on your team(all of which were positive), and threw some friendly ribbing out on your smack board...isn't that why this forum is here?  If WVU isn't important in Marshalls world, why are threads still being created about them and idiotic things being posted about the team, the coaches, their performance, and how Doc recruited Geno?  Your fans claim you don't want or need anything from Morgantown, yet jumped at the chance to take one of our assistants, then bitch because of what 'his' recruits are doing in the Big 12 for WVU.  Admit it, you guys are more concerned about WVU falling off, than MU picking back up.

I was going to try and be civil, but...meh.  Enjoy your(at best) 4-8 season, enjoy being 115 spots behind WVU, enjoy your sub-mediocre program, enjoy 15,000 tickets a week sold, enjoy being stuck with coaches you obviously don't want...and finally, enjoy knowing that at the end of the year, at worse, WVU will have ANOTHER Fiesta Bowl trophy in Morgantown, but odds are they're gonna have a $1mil+ crystal football sitting in the trophy case.  Maybe they'll let your team come look at it.  And since we're no longer playing eachother for the near future, Holgy will help you guys out with some coaching tips like Bowden did.

And this is a perfect example of what I'm talking about. So concerned with what's going on in Morgantown.  While you guys were rather embarrassed on you HOMECOMING game, they went on the road and beat a B12 power house.  So maybe it's jealousy that is whats going on here?  Morgantown was rocking Saturday night, while you guys were busy beating the %^&* out eachother in the stands.

  • What? Did you want me to reply to a link and an 'lol'?  This is the worst smack board ever.  Oh well, at least people still know we're a team. The only time I've hear MU mentioned all year is after we stomped you.  Even if WVU loses every game the rest of this season, we still beat you, and we'll still have more national prestige than you could ever dream of.

  • Actually, we go to Okie state in 2 weeks, so let's at least try to get some facts strait.  And please, try to respond to the original post from a few weeks ago, not try to start you own convo on a thread.  Did Marshall even play today?  Didn't even see you guys on the ticker.

Its possible ya know, Sportscenter just mentioned that that HEISMAN  qb candidate that u faced tonite particpated DIRECTLY in 7 TD's and that Geno now appeared to be "off the radar" their words not mine, sorry. Hey, I wasnt ragging u, I just wondered where u had been? Ya , we've been on "the ticker", prolly that couch smoke getting in your eyes and u missed US, I BELIEVE we scored MORE than K-State did

  • So because you scored more than the #4 team in the country did, what?  Is this like your fans arguments about 'well they lost to UL at home and we beat UL on the road, therefore we're better'?  I realize you may not have directly been trying to call me out, but I've been quiet on this post because nobody else has posted on it, until BC decided to post a link to a box score and considered that a decent post.

BTW, keep in mind that our 'bandwagon' fans, are the ones that bailed on your program, so don't take everything they say as the gospel.

  • I dont recall talking anything about U of L this or U of L that. I merely replied that we "were on the ticker" as u seemed to attempt to indicate u didnt think we played. Dont take the point thing so personal, trust me, its gonna happen again to ya, just as it has to us. Geno just picked a bad time to go in the tank,,,, not gonna win too many only pitching it 143 and ur defense is the perpetual sieve.

  • You need to worry about what's going on in Morgan(sh*t)hole.  This is supposed to be their year in the Big 12.  They were going to immediately go in there and win the conference.  What now?  Better get that ship righted soon because they are screwed next year.  They'll be lucky to be .500 next year.  YOUR fans are always commenting about the mediocrity in Huntington...well pot, meet kettle.

I used to actually like WVU somewhat as a child.  However as I grew up and watched the way YOUR fan base acts I began to despise them.  You're regularly ranked as one of the worst fan bases in the nation.  Hell schools hate playing there not because it's such a tough venue to play at, but because of the way they are treated when they go there.  How good do you imagine it looks to the rest of the nation that WVU officials have to ask their fans (not just their students), but the entire damn fan base to behave?  Then you think it's going to make ANYONE on this board appreciate your backhanded compliments about Marshall?  No one buys it chief.  I would suggest that you get the vaseline ready...it will make that ass %*&#*ing you're team is about to get in the next few weeks slightly less painful.

  • DAMN! At 5:42am that was pretty insightful! We just get our ass handed to us and thats the best u could come up with. U might be drunk? Nah, wouldnt have believed that.  Dude somebodys lyin to ya, we actually dont give a %^&* about John or his song or some damn Mingo Cty road. We'd like to win a football game, having a damn hard time doing that as of now. U've sucked for 2 weeks, getting ready to get ur ass handed to you by Ok St and we MIGHT,just MIGHT beat mighty Memphis(not a guarantee though!) At least "bye" week didnt put up 50 on ya! Happened to us AGAIN! Vaunted defenses we BOTH have huh???

Now as for paying 14mil for land valued at 4.5mil, well thats another story but then again since we are so "worried" bout u, we just are alittle concerned that maybe ur being taken advantage of........ ::) and since you brought it up.......90% of us DONT root for ANYTHING u do, not even ur vaunted "rifle team" U could be delusional as well as drunk!

  • Wow you have some balls coming on here talking that wvu smack! Let me promise you geno smith will not win the heisman, he reuined that chance during the k state game. And also I still see wvu going at best 7-5 if lucky. Honestly the way wvu plays I could see 5-7 my god has that team been exploited. Even espn so called analyst are talking geno smith reuined his chances. And for the drinking Kool aid, I don't do that I've learned my lesson.
