They found some posters of Willie Nelson on American Pickers last night before his time....

short hair, babyface, clean shaven, wearing a suit, holding a guitar....look nothing like him....It's mindblowing to think that his adult career making music started over 60 years ago...

  • The precinct I live in broke its record for most ballots cast on an Election Day at 2:00 and I just passed it and there are people lined up out the door still!  This is going to be record turnout in WV by all accounts and indicators.

  • Took my elderly mother to vote early.....I was waiting in the car....Heard a horn blowing 3-4 times....Look over and an elderly lady is backing slowly smack into the side of another car....Then 15 minutes later, a guy in 40's is unloading a wheel chair lift on the back end of his SUV and an elderly guy drives by in a Lexus SUV and runs it over the lift with his outside tire and rips the bottom loose....LOL

That's a few years before Buddy hired Waylen to play bass for him during a winter tour in early 1959. The story goes that Waylen gave up his seat on a plane to The Big Bopper, who was suffering from a cold. Later that night, the plane went down killing Buddy, The Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens.

  • Can't say I"m very proud of my Home state, Indiana, right now.   In one of these "down ticket" elections that probably has more day to day impact on families than any other vote cast the state kicked out it's Superindendent of public education and replaced him with a union puppet.

This, in spite of the fact that he's done more for reform, school choice, teacher evaluations,  test score bumps and overall teaching conditions than anyone ever has in my lifetime.  Indiana has the broadest range of school choice options of any state in the country and we aren't exactly known for our school funding or outside the box thinking on big picture items.   He did these things for the kids rather than his own political career.

just another case of another special interest group voting for itself and screw the kids and the parents that have to deal with these union bastaards.  The parents stuck with these substandard schools and teachers deserve the crappy education they get.  But, don't worry... that union teacher will have a job for life.
“This year will go down in history. For the first time a civilized nation has full gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient and the world will follow our lead into the future.” —Adolf Hitler, 1935
