For the last seven years this program has gotten off to a losing start, got out of contention in the division, and then tried to win out to go to a bowl named after a food product. Some years we've had defense and no offense, others we've had offense and no defense. I have reneged on any optimism I have toward next year. It is people that make the difference and again we have the wrong people.
Programs that make progress choose a head coach whom success follows everywhere they go. We choose assistants because they used to play here and have hung around some big schools. We're just not loaded with the kind of talent it takes for some coordinator to just walk in and go 15-0.
We need an experienced winner and we need him now.
