That'd be silly. They have a soph that really came on towards the end of the season, so you're going to go out there and get in a 3 way battle at RB with this kid, so likely one of you won't even get any snaps there?

Missoula newspaper reported Van was going there in yesterday's editions.

Shouldn't really hurt us.  We have 3 talented backs, all of whom could start for most programs.

I wouldn't be surprised if we have to see Mr. Martinez again in conference play down the road.  Wouldn't be shocked to see him go to UNCC & rejoin Phil R. his recruiter for the Herd.

It actually should help us a lot. We have four very good backs with Tallifero. It opens up a shot at recruiting someone if the right back falls to us...If Johnson goes back to LB as has been speculated, we will certainly have room for one more back. Nothing but love for Tron and Van.

Unfortunately for Tron his injury left him on the outside looking in for playing time next year. I hope he lands on his feet somewhere and does well.

So was Youbuty's. I saw him play on ESPN this year. I guess it was a miracle.

Even if its not over, cut some slack.  Kid worked hard, suffered a very bad injury that will cause a lifetime of pain whether he plays or not and owes MU nothing he hasn't already given.  Criticizing him makes you ignorant, a "please be respectful" or both.

i will never forget...... with us getting ready to put WVU away on the 1 yard line.  Right before he fumbled the guy next to me says... "who the f@$% is Tron Martinez and why is he in the backfield."  Literally fumbles 5 seconds away.  Thanks for the memories Tron!

Wish Tron and Travon the best, but now it gives us some validation at running back because now we have the 4 main backs that contributed this season in (Grooms, Butler, Watson, and Taliaferro). So we don't have to have 5 or 6 backs that are fighting for playing time because now this is a pass happy offense at Marshall and that means a more limited chances to run the ball for each guy.

One play didn't cost us the game. I blame our coaches that went into a prevent defense more than I blame Tron. Don't forget the holding penalty that was never called, when Vinny Curry was tackled to the ground in the end zone. There's so much blame to toss around it's so unfair to blame Tron for our loss.

You know, i really wouldn't be surprised to see him end up eligible somewhere else.  With everything I have seen from this staff, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if he was conveniently dq'd because we have a full house at running back.  I hope he gets some second opinions, and does what is best for him.

What I know of this injury, its not really a DQ.  More like "if you want to walk 1/2 mile at age 30, better not to play, or even run."  I think he CAN play, but to do so would be very shortsighted (which all kids are at 20).

Fullboat...he was an 18 yo freshman.  Back off.  Realize it or not, the man has sacrificed a HUGE thing for this program.  He will be lucky not to depend on pain meds by age 30.
