  • You guys complaining about this are probably the same ones that are scared to go to games in Morgantown.
That's funny, I lived 4 years in Morgantown. I wore green everyday and have ticket stubs from many games in that stadium. Games against miami in 96, ohio state in 98, v tech in 01 and 03, mu in 97, and 06 and many many more. Yeah. I'm scared to death.

  • I can tell ...hillbilly never had to run his own business.  He must be union employed.

IT DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE WHEN YOUR PERSONAL INCOME DEPENDS ON YOUR BUSINESS MAKING MONEY.

When you wore green in Morgantown how much $$$ did you lose?

Nope, never been in the union. Ask anybody here that knows me, i've got a pretty good gig. As far as losing money while living in Morgantown, considering I was a college student, I lost a ton on beer and pizza. Like my first post stated, Crockett's Lodge Wings are the best wings I seriously have ever eaten, hands down. It is located in Star City, about 5 minutes from wvu's stadium, and is a wvu fan favorite. Maybe the owner can add a location in Uniontown, PA and cater to Pitt and Penn State fans.

  • Did these places make a name for themselves by linking themselves to college sports? No. I remember when every Applebee's had nothing but music posters and antique crap for deco. I've eaten at the original Quaker Steak several times and there was no indication that they tied themselves to anything to make a name for themselves besides tasty food an motor oil. Your response is based too much on the modern versions of these places. This guy is tying his whole restaraunt to college sports teams.

Not that it matters too much but bw3s started in the heart of OSU land with OSU stuff around. As the business grew the model tweaked. Idk about other locations, never been, but around here the walls are decorated different for the local high school the place is in and OSU supported with it.

  • I walked through the whole place. It was about 60/40% in mu's favor. The wait staff was probably 80% blue and gold shirts.

I have no idea if this is accurate, but maybe the workers get to pick what they wear to work.

    I'm sure that's probably accurate.

  • When I was in college I liked Fat Pattys ok... they had great beer/happy hour specials but when I always read they have a "great burger" i shake my head.  To me a great burger is hand formed and grilled to order.. I know it is usually cheaper to purchase the frozen pre-cooked garbage but by how much?  I have eaten at a lot of good burger joints throughout the country and I can easily say Fat Patty's is not in my top 50..

Back to the original post... I have been to the FP in Teays Valley and from what I can remember they had a good amount of MU stuff on their walls... I say if we want these establishments to take down the blew and yeller then we start winning the ones that matter.. As many have posted on here... winning solves everything.

  • Calm down and have a PBR, BOH. It's no reason to get bent out if shape. Give the Ears a couple of bowl less seasons and the blew and yeller colors will disappear.

Me too. I've been to many good burger joints. I remember somebody a couple of years back on here saying that Guy Fieri should come and do a Diners Drive-Ins & Dives segment on Fat Patty's and I remember chuckling while reading it. I've been to 36 of the places that were featured on DDD. I even have a DDD ap on my phone to help me find the places when I'm traveling.  Fat Patty's is nowhere close to being on the same level with those places. Honestly, the best burger I have ever eaten was at a place i saw on DDD. It was called Pawley's Front Porch in Columbia, SC. It was incredible.

  • I eat salads when I go there. Haven't had a burger from there for a couple of years. They were ok, but there are much better burgers out there.

  • 2011 or 2012?

If you have to know, the 2011 game was played on September 4th and my son was born on September 5th. I would have been nominated as "husband of the year" had I left a 9 month pregnant wife behind to go to a football game while she was having contractions. The 2012 game was played on the same day we had my sons first birthday party. And while I'm at it, my wife an I took a vacation during the 08 game because that was the only week she could get off from work, and the 09 game was played the same day as my parents 40th wedding anniversary party.

  • Look at it this way....

think of all the wvu fans enjoying their burgers, looking at all the MU stuff while giving their money to a big Herd backer. Thank you wvu fans.

Things are more important than your Herd fandom.  That is fine.  The same applies to the Fat Patty owner I am sure.

  • Ledo's pizza, a College Park MD favorite since 1955, was tied at the hip with U of MD for many years. Beer and Pizza just like Geno's pub......Now the Marco's family have franchised and have operations in every state between Delaware and Florida.......the one in my "local" is sportin Va Tech gear.....Good pizza, good beer.......its about "bidness"
