  • Should we fine them? Make them pay each school a certain amount of money to re enter our league? Ban them from postseason for one year?

Welcome them back with open arms, go to the negotiating table with a stronger stance with the TV guys...

  • Be selective in who is welcome back, I like ECU to return if they wish, and Houston, let the others go elsewhere

So you are saying that UCF knew for a fact the B'abll schools would leave, that they would take the BE name with them since they had majority voting power as charter members. That that move would in turn basically negate the BE as a league thus eliminating any bowl tie ins, tv package the league had and basically drive Boise away from the new look BE because Boise came in under the guise they were assured of so much in TV revenues that will not come to fruition.
If the UCF AD and Pres. knew that, they should go to WALL St. and be brokers, they'd make much more money  speculating stocks and futures.

It was pretty much common knowledge that the basketball schools wanted to split.

  • I think we would likely just reunstate them if we could...with no exit or entrance fees....but what if odu and Charlotte get pissed?  I really want those two schools in our league.

Newest report is saying that losing basketball schools cuts their tv revenue by as much as 30%.  Given the article posted a couple days ago saying their revenue in a new deal, prior to basketball split, would be between 60-80 mil would make deal between 40-60 mil over 5 years.  This puts them equal with CUSA and MWC

Yes, and we would have made the same decision with the same information.

I know you're probably correct, but how could they not see that the BB schools were po'd at the lack of "power" that they had in the direction of the conference?  This shouldn't have been an unknown, many here predicted this over a year ago, and have been proven right.  Plenty of soundbites by the basketball only schools foreshadowed this.  This seems to have been the perfect storm, w/ the Tulane addition being the straw that broke the camel's back...

I'd drop both Tulane and UAB for MT and WKU.  They add more value by having better football and B-Ball teams.  It's a shame OU won't leave the MAC.  Would be nice having Cinci, OD, WKU, MT, OU, and in the conference.

  • C-USA should figure out a way to get rid of the little schools that they added while in panic mode, and make every attempt to get the real C-USA teams back, including Cincy and USF.

ECU and Tulane would have known.  If not, then someone needs to start watching ESPN Sportscenter at those institutions.

  • These teams will not come back to C-USA.  There will be a new Big East, and it will look a lot like the old C-USA.  We'd be fortunate to be in it instead of the new C-USA. I hope we make it. If the new league is developed without us, we are further up a creek without a paddle.

In your opinion, what could be the result of all this for Marshall ?

I would guess that at this time things are difficult to predict, but in the current scope of things I would really appreciate hearing whatever viewpoint you could offer....
