  • #1. There's no way this Herd team should be sporting a losing a record. Too much talent on this team!! Monster dunks and treys in first half. Very athletic. Playing good D.

#2. Attendance looks bad. My guess, maybe 2500 actual butts in seats.

#3. The Cam is still a nice venue. It's getting some age but it is still a first class basketball stadium for Marshall.
    IT'S TAILGATING SEASON!

  • number one is the main reason why Herd fans are losing it over Herrion.  Pitiful shame.

Wow! I'm not going to criticize this... My dad and I were talking the other day and he said this reminds him of the Toledo team from their scandal who could beat anyone, make any game close or get blown out. He swears up and down this is going on. I'd like to believe other wise and won't make the statement unless facts came.

  • Love the CAM inside the arena. Looks great on TV as well.  The concession areas, rest rooms and hallways aren't reflective of the great arena; they need work.

  • My observation from the game.

Stop playing the Mario Extra Life 1 up chime every time they make a free throw.

    Annoying.

What happened to the hand/horns in the air and whoosing afterward?

With our free throw percentage it can't be played that much.

Court and seating is OK but concourse and restrooms are in need of some major updating IMO.

What I hope happened, was that the 30 or 40 students in that section behind the basket who did that finally realized that they weren't cheering for the University of Texas or at an AC/DC concert. Hopefully that corny "first down, first down" thing will cease to exist as well.

And toss the THUNDER CLAP out as well.   20 thousand at a football game.  12000 OLD people who have no idea that they were going to a game when the kids checked them out of the nursing home for the weekend and 8000 drunks that have no idea what their clapping for....

I don't get your gripe about the first down chant. It is unique and not used elsewhere in the same way.

I will agree with you that some things do look dumb with low participation, but that is not a reason to stop doing it. I will just try to keep encoraging people like yourself to participate and make us look like a unified fanbase.

We need more people participating and less people complaining about the participation of others

Seriously, what do you guys suggest, sitting on our hands? I am not being an ass but who cares if people want to do it. If its fun for them, why the hell not? Sorry, but unless our AD and SID put a plan in place for the fans, our games are going to be like that - a big cluster bomb. Some want to do it, some hate it. The PA announcer starts talking, then the band starts playing, then the cheerleaders start the We Are Marshall chant - all at the same time. Its total chaos.

I got to say that I'm not crazy about the thunder clap, and if I had it, I'd take the penicillin. ;) I don't need the cheerleaders or the band to get me excited and not against them either. Play hard and win is what gets me excited.

  • My observations are, we are a team that is not having fun. Guys don't give maximum effort and just act like they really don't care either way anymore. It seems to me that Herrion is the type of coach that just beats you down over and over and over, that finally you just aren't having fun and don't care. Just like a parent that is awlays telling you every little thing you do wrong screaming and yelling, but never tells you how much good you do and builds you up. Scream, bark, scream, bark and repeat....Plus we have a few guys especially one that is more worried about "looking" like a leader than being a leader. JMO!!!!

  • I brought several to a game and tried to pass them out and get people to use them. Noone would take or use them for fear of getting thrown out due to " not allowing noisemakers". I used mine anyway, but one at a time didn't make a difference.  :(
What day is it? Game day! What day? Game day! Play till the whistle blows!!!!

  • My observations are, we are a team that is not having fun.

What you are saying is correct part of the time. The Tulsa, ECU and UCF games it was obvious that they were having a ball out there.

My gripe is that it's just the wvu thing they've been doing for years in reverse order without the spirit fingers and 100X cornier. Add the fact that each section seems to have a leader that leads the 20 or so folks that participate in it in his section and no sections ever do it at the same time. I know, I know follow the band blah blah blah... Tell that to each section leader, not me. I think it's dumb, a reversed ripoff of a rival, and bush league. Be original, folks.
