  • We lack fundamentals, toughness, heart, smarts, and a will to win. I can't stand this team.

  • Herdmeister we looked pathetic. We make so many UNFORCED errors it isn't funny. We have to be one of the dumbest IQ teams in the country. Memphis isn't close to the Calipari Memphis teams. They are good but by no means great.

  • Also Hanner. Oh wait, Herrion just plays him 10 seconds a game. But Goff gets all the minutes he wants and he couldn't make a freethrow if his life depended on it. And he is a TO machine.

  • Did any of you that watched it on TV hear the announcers say that Herrion didn't realize how bad their free throw shooting numbers were?

If Herrion is that far out in leftfield then he sure as heck shouldn't be a head coach; he's at all the games and sees the points left behind. It's BS he's throwing at the announcers because when Kane was missing all of his FTs Herrion said in one of the H-D articles it was a team epidemic--one of them starts missing and then even the good FT shooters start missing 'em til the whole team can't come close to making one.

  • Average point spread in the six games played in CUSA last night: 12 pts
Loss in the Herd game last night: 12 pts

It is who we are. I hope in my lifetime to experience something other than preseason hype followed by another year of underachieving followed by no big dance invite. It's been twenty five years since last achieving the primary goal of a season - getting into the big dance for a Cinderella shot at a national championship. Faces change, same outcome. Fans get excited, same outcome. What tradition we had is gone. We have a history, we have let the tradition die out.

I hope someone comes in one day who is able to revive it.

  • I'd hate to be the players who have spent all summer training running and trying their best in games only to be called lazy.

I see it like this, we thought we had a great point guard at the beginning of the season and we didn't. Our free throw shooting is the worst in all of college basketball. The blame for both of these is coaching.

Herrion still gets another year IMO.

It's a shame, he's had the cam rockin better than it has in 20 years.

Memphis could have won by 40.

  • When we start making a point of saying that the Herd "could have lost" by more points, we're scraping the bottom of the barrel. We LOST, that's the point. Losing by less doesn't show improvement or potential, only that we have a losing program this year.

  • Memphis could have won by 40.

Then why didn't they win by 40? I didn't see them taking the air out of the ball to keep from scoring. I didn't see them deliberately throw the ball away or miss shots

  • I think if Memphis had brought their A game they could have won by 40.

IMO Herrion deserves one more year, he had a bad year after 2 solid years of good positive program growth. He dresses well and doesn't look like a fat drunken louse wearing Oakland  raider sweatsuits and is involved.

If he wasn't aware the FT shooting was that bad that is not a good sign but people and coaches go through tough times.

Hamrick gave Holliday another year after what i thought was a pathetic coaching performance and I do think next year is make or break for Holliday - same should apply to Herrion.

I'm proud of our young athletes , I think most of them do give their very best, and I support them whenever possible. I think the coaches do their best too, but it's hard to watch sometimes.

In talking to some Memphis fans last night before AND after the game. They will tell you that Memphis is playing better right now than at anytime since Pastner has been the head coach. I believe they brought their "A" game.

  • I think most of them do give their very best....I think the coaches do their best too,

You believe the players and coaches give the best they have to give. Giving our best apparently produces a losing record. Meanwhile, Kane said that he believes we are the best team in CUSA.

How does such a grand canyon sized chasm exist separating a belief that we give our best in a losing record and a belief that we are the best team in CUSA.
