  • I didn't see any idiotic comments, Greg.  Losing our RB coach and recruiting coordinator a few weeks before spring practice starts is not good.  We only have he and Legg back from last year's offensive staff so we need the contunuity.  Also, finding someone with Jajuan's connections in south Florida this close to spring practice starting won't be easy.  Sure, Doc knows a ton of people and we will find someone if Seider leaves but ideally we need him to stay.  No matter how we slice it, him leaving wouldn't be a good thing.  Can we recover and find someone?  Sure.....but I'd rather not.

We have a coach with south Florida connections in Mirabal who is from Miami. Price is top notch in recruiting and I'm thinking our new linebacker coach will be too. While I agree with continuity, I think Doc grabbed Mirabel for the exact reasoning of having South Florida once Seider leaves.

  • This is the one I'm worried about.  Jajuan has a lot of ties to Morgantown and I have no doubt he wouldn't mind being up there.  His wife is from there.  However, he also knows Holgs is a disaster and his time may be short lived, perhaps only one year.  Staying here and waiting for the big one next off season is the wise choice unless Jimbo calls.  He knows Fisher is probably secure for several years.  The point being he has a wife and kids and while the short term money is better it would come with considerable risk that I'm not sure he is willing to take.

FSU is full.  A lot of rumors and huffing and puffing from both sides on regarding WV's opening, but I've heard and seen nothing credible either way yet.

  • Heater should have ties in FL and if I recall, Cronin was a pretty good recruiter.   I trust Doc is aware Seider will leave someday and has a plan in place.  I like Seider and appreciate what he has done but maybe we find someone better.

  • Seider needs to do what is best for his family.  I like him, but it is not like having a Florida pipeline has made us a winner.

what do your buddies on the blue lot say?

hey, I can see Sieder leaving but he's a fool if he goes there...he needs to hold on another year or two then head off to a real major.

  • Like everyone else, I would hate to see him leave, especially for wvu; BUT he has to do whats best for he and his family. We weren't going to keep him forever. If Doc wants to keep him bad enough he can give him a raise, which we can afford without question.
If we lose him, we will be fine, its only one man. The program will not fold.

  • I really hope Seider stays, but there are a lot of people that truly don't understand Doc's greatest strength and the extent of his Florida ties.  The Florida recruiting isn't going anywhere even if we lose every single assistant.  As long as Doc's here, we're going to recruit Florida extremely well.

  • My source, said Seider was offered the job this morning.  So unless we can pony up, I would believe he will be gone.  The pay is $240-$260 range, and if someone doubles my salary I would be gone too.  I hope the info I got is wrong, but my guy is usually accurate.

If true, the only way I see us keeping him is double his salary, and make him an Assistant Head Coach or something.

  • Doesn't he only make $90,000 here.  If reports of his WVU offer are in the $240,000-260,000 range are accurate, doubling his salary would not be enough to keep him.

I thought I saw where he got a recent raise that put him over $100,000, but still. . .

At WVU sources close to the situation tell us no offer has been made and at least 1 more interview coming.

  • I wonder how good Seider will be without Doc.  He's never been in that situation.  Good luck to him.  I hope he does well, except when the Doctor is going against him for a recruit.  Go Herd!

  • Your right, he has been docs right hand man since he was a GA, so I wonder how much of his success has been due to the man piling the strings in the background, making calls and using the relationships he spent 330 years building.  Not saying Seider isn't good or won't be successful, but I do think he could use a little more experience.  If he was only the Recruiting Coordinator that would be one thing, but stepping into a school like WVU, who have very high expectations and are now the small fish in a big pond, Holgersom is going to be very hard to work for, and no one is going to care about just losing a coordinator.  I really think his air raid offense is going is going to have to rely a good amount on their run game, without having a good passing game to open things up.  That puts Seider in the spotlight and ins perfect scenario for him to become the fall guy for mullets short comings at the end of the season, when snake luck tells him he must make some staff changes in order to retain his job.
