  • ok.  i just skimmed the stats.  and before I start, to be clear, I am not happy with Kanes play for the year, I think he should be better but I am tired of bison60 and others trying to lay so much negativity on him....when the fact is he's our best all around and goes to work pretty well every game - - maybe not every play but he is logging waaaaayyy more minutes than anyone.

so Bison60, the 7 turnovers turns Kane's game into a "not a good game" and you don't mention his 7 assists?

you also seem to forget he's logging 38 minutes against so miss and has the ball in is hands way more than anyone else on the team.  Mannings 18-20 minutes give him some relief on the ball, but even when he is the two guard he has the ball a ton.

contrast that to Tinnon's 4 TOs when he doesn't have the ball in his hands a fraction of the time Kane has.  Tinnon has had TO problems all year.  No worries, I guess you like the smile on his face or the fact he's a good Dad.  I don't know...but you have to admit it's obvious you and others just have personal problems with Kane and it impacts your ability to evaluate the game.

so, I guess we shouldn't expect you to thank him for playing out of position at PG all year...

  • Manning had a better game than Kane. Kane is an above average player though everyone seems to want him to be a superstar. Pittman, Scarver, and Manning would be on my team before kane.

Please tell me you are joking. Kane has scored more in the Houston and Hofstra games combined than what Manning has scored all year. Scarver is good for one thing, shooting. Not a great ball handler or defender, so if he's not hitting his shots on a given night, he would be better served on the bench. You may have a good argument with Pittman but personally I would still take Kane before any of them.

that's why you need to stick to making cornhole boards and not analyzing bball.

no one is stroking up Kane to be a super star, simply defending the constant negativity and blame centered on him.  i've been disappointed is several things in kanes game...but I would never throw my brain out the window and try to lay so much fault at him.

i'm glad Manning is coming along and think he is on is way to being a good player for us...but the season is almost over and he's just now getting it.  not a negative, but what is to be expected of a true freshmen.

  • 2bison....i'm not against Kane by no means. I think some of us point out these things ONLY because some of you try and make him out to be greater than what he is. HE IS A GOOD PLAYER no doubt about it. But he is not a great player. He makes critical mistakes at critical times. And he tries to lead but doesn't know how. Now other players also make critical mistakes like Tinnon, Spikes, Pittman, Scarver and so on. But some of you aren't talking about how great those players are and that is why people don't point them out as much. I actually like Kane and think he has done good things at times, just like Pittman has, Scarver has, Tinnon has and so on.  Yes, he plays 40 minutes and that has an effect on TO's. But 12 in one game and 7 in another is a bit much IMO. And if you look at the 40 minutes, then he has more opportunity to score more also, right?

33, 27, 23, two 22, two 19, 18 and four 16 point games so far this year. Also throw in four 13, a 14 and an 11 point performance along with a few games with 9. I would say he's pulling his weight since he's played PG about 80-90% of his minutes this year. Plus one of only two triple doubles in the NCAA this year but yeah, he's just average.  ::) ::) ::)

    Numbers don’t matter.

For Kane put a basketball in his hands and he goes into hyperdrive and just doesn’t stop.

For Kane haters, put a keyboard in their hands and they go into hyperdrive and just don’t stop.

The difference? What Kane does matters, the haters don’t.

  • Girthy i never said he didn't pull his weight. That is where some of you have some of us wrong. We don't hate Kane and we don't think he is a bad player. A lot of us just don't think he is all Marshall and all world like some of you think. He is a good player that will play overseas, just like a LOT of players at Marshall have. He won't be in the NBA. Isn't even close to that level. JMO!!!!
