And is this the same wasbarryb who not so long ago argued that realignment is being driven by TV markets, or the one who argued it's driven by football? I think the username might be shared by different posters.

Time for MU and CUSA to worry more about what they can become, not what has been....... with all due respect to the many posters on this subject, when you see the all the details of the new conferences TV packages......you'll be very envious.  Virtually every conference game (football AND basketball) will be televised on a national platform........ a few will be regional, but it will be very few. 

Football will be split between ESPN family (ABC/ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU) and you'll be surprised at the number........NBC-SN (or possibly FOX) will have a very large number of games......CBS-SN will get a healthy slice and the remainder will be RSN/ESPN3

Money isn't great, but it isn't chicken feed either.

I was thinking this is how it was going to be. I truly miss Marshall being televised on ESPN.
IMO, Tulsa will leave for the new conference or (with UTEP) to the MWC. Hopefully, we can still play ECU OOC every year. Great history and rivalry.

Obviously you are making these statements because of the network affiliations of CUSA and the noname conference.  There should be no reason that all of the noname conference bball and football games would be broadcast nationally over the CUSA games, because nobody cares any more about their games than they do the CUSA games.  Their product is just not any better.  So how much of your statement is just you toeing the company line and how much of it is actually a situation where we will be envious?  (Serious question; not being sarcastic)  I truly would be envious if all of their conference games were broadcast like you said, but I just can't see a Tulane vs Memphis football game being a very huge draw.

None of what I said is "toeing the company line" nor was I "Obviously making these statements".  Simply, I've seen the breakout of the particular package in question, and while "light" on money, the exposure breakdown is quite impressive......

Much of that exposure will be sublicensed to other Networks, but impressive nonetheless.
