  • Just thought some of you might want to know...and now, the question: would a win over #10 UK be better than our win over WVU???...

  • If it is a non conference game, beating a ranked team is bigger than beating an unranked team.  Conference games are bigger than both.

  • A win over WVU is no where close to beating UK in baseball.

  • I think if WVU got a win over UK, it would just be their "Super Bowl" win of their season. :P

  • keep in  mind guys, most teams don't use their aces on mid week games. wvu/MU was different as both used their ace. Believe me UK will not and most likely MU won't either.

Why don't they use their ace during the week?  Do you get double bonus points for winning a weekend game?

Because the weekend is when all conference games are played OR in the case before conference play starts they play a 3 game series with someone. Once they get the rotation set, they want to keep it with the same number of days off between starts.

This week of course, the confernece starts Friday. No way you want to waste your ace on a non-conference game.

  • Down 7-2 in top of 7th to #10 Kentucky. Seemed they were saving pitchers.

So they only pitch once every 7 days in college versus 4 or 5 days in pros?

  • Games are more spread out than the big leagues. These are young developing pitchers so they should not be over worked in college.
