IMO Ark St and Louisiana will be added to make the geographic divisions work.

How would everyone feel about this potential division set up??

For me, I hate losing Southern Miss to the West. But with conference most certainly going to 9 conference games, maybe they could be our permanent crossover rival game.

Or the East could steal SoMiss, LaTech, ULALA, and Arky State and form our own conference.

Not so sure Bama gets excited for Vandy, Ol Miss or Kentucky but every league has bottom feeders. Some of the new schools that Herdfans are not impressed with have the funds, location and following to run past us like Moss did the NFL corners in 99 etc. Just dont get the big feelin attitude at all. Prove it first..then do the chest thumpin.

thet we're better than ol CUSA last yr....no bad stigma as far as I am concerned and we have sucked vs the MAC lately too

I'd rather see us add another eastern school over another school from Louisiana. Ark State I can live with.

As a Marshall fan I agree with you.

As a fan of a school that is a member of C-USA I can see the need for additional western schools if we want to build towards stability and a conference that has a better chance to develop and resist future realignment. We Marshall fans should be among the schools most able to understand the need to add more western schools. Under the old conference alignment we were one of the most remote schools in the conference. It affected the schools budgets and fans ability to follow their team.

Now that the new conference teams are more eastern located the teams in west are increasingly isolated. Ignoring them will only increase the likelihood of instability and the chance they will make lateral moves as well as making upward moves.

Personally I couldn’t give a rat’s behind for UTEP or the other three Texas schools, but I’m tired of worrying whether my school is linked to an unviable conference. If we’re going to move ahead as a healthy conference we have to take care of everyone’s needs.

If we move to 16 teams the new schools should be more Western and I really don't care who, let them find schools that western teams find agreeable.

I LOVE THE NEW CUSA!!! But i am a little more of a BB fan than ftb fan. CUSA BB is going to be great for the fans IMO. UNCC, MTSU, ODU and WKU is going to be awesome additions and more regional for the fans. Also i'm glad Louisiana Tech has been added. Now the FTB side of things is going to be much better travel wise, but will be down as far as strength goes for a while. But i also think the ftb side can really become even better than what we lost. The teams coming in have a way better fan folowing IMO than what we lost. It's called POTENTIAL and i think those teams bring a LOT of potential. I'm not crying. I like it a lot better than the strung out CUSA we have had.

Why would you not want WKU? They bring a lot in both football and basketball.

This would be an interesting set-up with the schools who focus recruiting in FL in the east verses the schools that focus recruiting in TX in the west.

Also Charlotte has Kansas State and Virginia Tech on future football schedules. I don't get the impression they plan on being at Campbell's level for long. Basketball they already have a good team and will be hard to beat. Marshall needs to worry about upgrading their teams in both sports. 5-7 football and 13-19 basketball records don't exactly make us look like world beaters.
