  • I'm straight up black...no flavors. I have to say, I used to like the taste of the coffee in the Dwight's that was downtown at 1st street. It had notes of confectioner sugar and nicotine. Great stuff.

Now I have the Keurig K Cup machine and go with the dark roast Italian or French.

    What about you guys?

  • The ritual at my house is a double shot of espresso for me and I make my wife a double latte each morning.  Occasionally, I'll make a mocha latte if I want something sweet... but, I usually stick to a straight double shot with a little bit of sugar.

I'm partial to Red Bird espresso out of Bozeman, Montana... the guy roasts a fantastic espresso blend.

  • I will drink just about any coffee, except for McDonald's it is awful.

I stay mostly with some dark roast, usually any kind of Latin American is good.  I like a coffee with a high acid content, doesn't leave a taste in your mouth or give you coffee breath.

  • I'm not very sophisticated.  When I was a kid (18-24), I'd drink regular coffee black, with 2 sugars.  Now I drink regular coffee with one creamer and 1 1/2 sweet n low.

I'm not a connoisseur by any stretch, but the most delicious coffee I ever drank was vanilla coffee from Mr. Donut.

As for these super fancy, dessert coffees.  I have two reason for no indulging in them.  First, they're expensive and what if I fall in love with one of them?  Then I have a 2-3 time a day coffee habit with an order that $4 each.

Secondly, many of them are full of fat and that's not what I need in my bloodstream at 40.

  • No foo foo coffee for me. Straight up, black. I don't like the deep dark types, but do like a good hearty flavor with a nice aroma. The Keurig device is the best invention of the past 20 years!!! Not real picky about the brand.

  • I could never acquire the taste for coffee.  In fact, I hardly ever have caffeine period.  The only things I regularly drink are water, gatorade and beer.  ;)

They just need to perfect a universal cup to allow you to use your own ground coffee. Their $20 adapter sucks. I've tried another off brand that didn't work and even macgyvered a used plastic Kcup but the coffee ends up weak and not as strong as the original.

Right now I purchase the Tullos Italian or French dark roasts and have 2 cups every morning.

  • I typically do a dark roast black coffee, on the Keurig it is usually Emeril's Big Easy Bold or my current favorite is Tully's Hawaiian.  Also try the GM Kenya AA if you can find it.  When fall comes around I like Green Mountain's Pumpkin Spice with a little sugar free vanilla syrup and milk.

Outside of the Keurig realm the best coffee I've ever had is Jamaican Blue Mountain.

I have the universal k-cup and haven't had any trouble with it, other than getting a few grounds in my coffee, use it three times a day.

  • Office coffee.  Can't complain... it's free and very fresh.  Just black.

On weekends I like to get the whole bean coffee and crush them in a "magic bullet" or whatever those machines are that pulverize the whole beans.  Black straight up but will sometimes get the french vanilla beans.  Good stuff.

Agree that Mcdonalds is not very tasty.  Have to say that Starbucks taste burnt to me.   Probably not sophisticated enough for it.

Don't buy cofee out much.  At $2-5 I'm just too cheap.  I can buy a whole bag at Kroger for $5.

  • K-Cup...Italian Roast - Barista Prima.

I need to learn to use my "French Coffee Press".  My sister-in-law made the best coffee I ever had from one of these contraptions.

I second that. Nantucket blend is a good cup. You can buy the k-cups in boxes of 80 at Sam's Club for like $35.

  • I don't make coffee at the house. My husband doesn't drink it, so I figure, why bother since I'd be the only one? My daily drink is strong Irish breakfast tea with a dollop of milk and a little sprinkle of sugar. I put that in a tall travel cup and sip on it as I run the kids to school and run myself to campus. I do enjoy a good iced coffee, cream and no sugar, sometimes.

There's a Vietnamese restaurant we go to in Houston that serves Cafe Sua Da, which is fresh-brewed strrrrrrrooooong coffee with sweetened condensed milk stirred in and served over ice. It's really strong, quite sweet, and a delicious treat. Goes great with Vietnamese fried egg rolls. Man, now I'm craving that coffee.

  • I always say that I like my coffee coffee flavored.  Straight up black.

When I worked on the stock crew at Lavalette Foodland, everyone dipped snuff and I couldn't stand the stuff.  I dipped coffee instead.

  • I recently bought the Foldgers Silk Dark because they were out of the Tullos Italian and French dark roast. I do not care for it and it's not very strong. Since the Tollos Italian and french are getting  harder to find I think I may switch to the Italian Roats Barista Prima. It's a little more in price but I usually see it on the shelf everywhere I shop.
