  • I didn't realize it until you posted this but I don't pronounce the t either. As Doug Heffener would say..."HUH!"

  • Funny you brought this up because I was just talking to somebody at the beach the other day who pronounced it HunTington, and I thought how weird it sounded because I always pronounce it HuNington.

Funny that's another mispronounced word, most people put an "L" in it and say Holme. It's actually "Ho mmm"

  • haha, glad to see some others liked this.

Steve Cotton ALWAYS pronounces that first "t."

We were in northern ohio a few weeks ago and heard someone say it the way Cotton does. It got me thinking as to how everyone else around here says it. Didn't know if maybe I was one of the only ones lol.

  • How about wash or warsh?

    Battery or batree.

And how many or us drop g's off any word ending in ing?

Funny thing is for most of these pronunciations I'm pretty sure I use the more colloquial when I'm not thinking about the word. When I think about the pronunciation  I use the more Midwestern diction.

In any event if I were to use hollar or batree my 92 year old mother would leap out of her walker and beat the living daylights out of me with said walker.

    Funny thread

I started saying "hunderd" instead of hundred. The local village speak here tends to rub off on ya.
I also say "kooo laid" instead of kool-aid.
