  • The Charleston QB Club's website has just recently been published and is clearly a work-in-progress.  Check it out in its infancy at:  http://www.muqbcc.org

If you wish to join the Club or to make a donation, contact the club at:

Marshall University QB Club of Charleston
    108 Pine Trace
    South Charleston, WV  25309

Yearly membership is just $35.  Donations are always accepted.   ALL funds raised go directly to the football program.

  • THis is the ticket right here.  The program is already setup to take donations and the money will go to help strengthen the football program.

  • Will the QB Club be set up to take Paypal payment at some point? Probably would be a good idea.
I don't like to lose, and that isn't so much because it is just a football game, but because defeat means the failure to reach your objective. I don't want a football player who doesn't take defeat to heart, who laughs it off with the thought, 'Oh, well, there's another Saturday.' The trouble in American life today, in business as well as in sports, is that too many people are afraid of competition. The result is that in some circles people have come to sneer at success if it costs hard work and training and sacrifice.- Knute Rockne

  • Does it matter if I give to the Charleston vs. the Huntington QB club? Are all the events for the Charleston club there? I want to give, I just want to be a part of the outings or whatever goes on as well. Thanks

  • When you send your donation, send your e-mail address, and you will be added to the QB Club's e-mail list.  The Chas QB Club does a great job of sending year-round e-mail reminders for upcoming events and keeping members up-to-date with all of its activities.

The Charleston Club has a great schedule of events, above and beyond the weekly luncheons during the football season. Golf Tourney coming up this spring, just had Valentines day dance, etcetera

Both clubs have the same goals.  I don't think matters, though I am partial to the Charleston club.

As far as the outings, I'll have something up in the next week or so for the Charleston Spring Practice.

  • I have a few questions about how the club(s) operates:

--How often do they turn over funds to Marshall?
--How much communication is there between MU football and the QB Club about what their current needs are and what the $$ will be used for?
--How much does the QB Club raise for MU in a given year?
--Are QB Club donations acknowledged by MU?

Can we get Huntington QB Club info posted as well? (and what is the difference between the 2 clubs, other than geography?)

    THANKS.

Herd Head will be able to answer all your questions but I'll chime in on what I know.

--How often do they turn over funds to Marshall?

I believe it is turned over in bulk, once per year.

--How much communication is there between MU football and the QB Club about what their current needs are and what the $$ will be used for?

There is a meeting with Snyder soon (prior to the spring game) on expectations.  Expectations presently are to equip the weight room.

--How much does the QB Club raise for MU in a given year?

The goal this year is $70,000(for the Charleston Club).

--Are QB Club donations acknowledged by MU?

Yes.  You get one BG point for every $200 you donate.  That includes memorabilia and gifts you give for raffles and auctions (tabbed at the sell price).

Can we get Huntington QB Club info posted as well? (and what is the difference between the 2 clubs, other than geography?)

I beleive it's basically the same info.  Both clubs work for a common goal but operate independently (different fundraisers, board members) because of geography.

As I said, Herd Head can jump in and correct anything I have posted or add to it.

    THANKS.[/quote]
