L.T. Smith Stadium, which has been Western’s home for 37 years, is in line for a $35 million renovation. Funding for the stadium is expected to become available in 2006, although no firm timetable for its completion has been set, according to Selig.

Only two Mid-American schools – Ohio and Ball State – have stadiums with capacities below 25,000. But most MAC schools don’t average 20,000 fans.

    Thats Sad

Only three MAC schools – Marshall, Northern Illinois and Toledo – averaged more than 20,000 fans at home games last season.

I love how ppl still use us to build up the MAC  :-?

  • Ummm.....Uhhh.....

So this means that WKU is adding the other half to their run-down facility ?

Will they have an erector set ( ala UCF, our endzone upgrade) or a concrete half-stadium?

"For years we realized we needed an indoor practice facility," Pastilong said. "Former Gov. Caperton was sympathetic to our needs and enabled us with the financial assistance to carry out this project."

"We're going to monitor that car more closely," said Pastilong, who previous said the football staff had used the car for errands. "It's going to have a checkout sheet with an odometer reading and the purpose for using it."

I care, because if its 1 more weak non-bcs school dragging down the stronger non-bcs schools then I care.

  • I look for the MAC to announce some kind of deal with WKU and Temple over this summer.
With WKU joining as non fb now with a plan in place to be a full member by 2007 or so.
Temple would join for fb only with the full conference membership tabled until WKU joins as full member.
    IT'S TAILGATING SEASON!

If Temple wouldn't join the BE for all sports, they certainly won't join the MAC.  WKU is very happy in the SBC for other sports.  The MAC would have to become a multiple bid conference for them to join(JMO).

Look for Temple and WKU to become associate members in the MAC for FB only until Buffalo is admitted to the BE

Didn't Villanova keep Temple from joining as all spots by powering their way into the conf., I say if Temple would have joined as all sports this realignment would look totally different right now.
