How many of you have actually played football? At any level. Just wondering cause I see some silly comments from time to time. Been debating with a friend of mine on how many people on this board actually played in real life lol.

Just one year. Although I was the Huntington PPK Champion in my age group two years in a row.  ;D
I played basketball and baseball all through high school.

I played E-Team and 8th grade.

In 8th grade practice I would call out dumby audibles so that I could look like Byron Leftwich.

I know what I'm talking about.

Played from 4th grade to HS. Planned on college but a car accident and 2 reconstructive knee surgeries decided I wouldnt. Still came to Marshall and loved every second as a student/fan/alumni.

Through middle school. Found that small and slow was a bad combination to continue to play competitively.  At 52, I still play some informal but competitive flag football.  I always could catch and there is a lot to be said for the ability to run north and south. My arm feels like it is about to fall off anytime I throw a football, though.

10 years from LL-HS, plus eleven coaching this and that, here and there (never above HS).

9th, 10th and 11th grades, plus a couple weeks in the US Army in Germany. Not the best, but not the worst either.  Was very small in JrHigh and High School, so had to learn the play book better than most just to get on the field.  Great experience, even the conditioning of one Mr. S at HHS was like nothing I have heard of or seen since.

"All P.E." HS MVP as my friends like to joke. Over 100 TD passes 1 sem.

A bit of sandlot tackle in Ritter up to age 25 when I would feel really stiff and sore after tackle FB.

Intramural flag football at the corporate level. Slow, but good hands. Saw a guy take a knee to the jaw and have it wired shut for a few weeks. Twisted my own knee pretty bad on wet grass.

Great armchair QB though.

And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

I played in 8th grade,  but I was only 120 lbs. through h.s...however, I coached junior high and freshman football and assisted with the varsity during summer practice and scouted all over Ohio, so I know the game fairly well...as a matter of fact, I was on the same staff in Cadiz, Ohio, with the current Miami defensive coordinator, Jay Peterson...

I was 8th through 12th grade. 3-4 OLB, DE and NG till senior year then DE and DT in a 4-3.

Like MU ATO injuries (concussions and two years on a broken ankle) had to hang it up. Had a few schools with full rides, had several D3s with football and track would have been full rides.

Anything outside the OL and DL you won't see me criticize too much.

I played from the 5th grade through my senior year in high school.  A center mainly and a linebacker.  Loved playing the games just didn't care much for practicing.  I don't think I'm alone in that sentiment!

Midget league 3 years (Off & Def tackle), Junior High 3 years (Center, D line), 2 years high school (reserve lineman, extra tight end, special teams)....

Yes I played ball and a few years later I figured out I was much better at cross country and distance running. Traded in cleats for spikes.
