  • Despite the typo on the Herd's record, the writer cautions readers "do not be shocked to see them potentially run the table and get into the BCS."

What Will Happen: This isn’t rocket science. The Thundering Herd is the far superior team and they will continue to gouge opponents thanks to its seemingly unstoppable offense. This is one of the top teams to keep an eye out this year in terms of stealing a bid to the BCS. Marshall is fully capable of beating every team on the schedule, including Ohio and Virginia Tech. The passing attack is tremendous to watch and the running game has been a constant work in progress that is improving by the day.

Plus the Herd has a talented defense coached by
    an awesome DC in Heater.

    Go Herd!!

  • We really did fall over the past several years because it is odd to read this statement:

Marshall is fully capable of beating every team on the schedule, including Ohio and Virginia Tech.

Never thought I would see the day that Ohio would stand out as a challenge.  ???

I've told a few friends that I think we have a good chance to run the table.  But the BCS bid, even undefeated, is a long shot.  Boise's loss helps... But, I don't see Louisville losing.

  • The AAC has an autobid. We aren't competing against Louiville for a spot.

  • Correct. The AAC does not lose it until the 2014 season. Thanks for reminding me of that.

Of course you're right.   Guess I was thinking they had already lost their bid due to the name change and massive shuffle,   Another thanks for the reminder,

  • We knd of are though, if not top 12, we have to be ranked higher than lowest league champ. But thats putting the hwagon before the horse. lets beat gwu and ohio first.

  • Running the table is not enough to get a BCS bid. We'd have to do it convincingly. e.g., beat VT by 20 and bury the bob kitties, and win the league championship handily.
JMO cause we have dropped way way back from where we once were.
