  • I am convinced we will never be anything special again with Doc as coach. Yes, we won. But his butthole is so tight in close games you couldn't drive a toothpick in it.

  •  I am glad we won, but something doesn't feel right.  We were supposed to win bigger.

This team seemed ill prepared for this game on offense and the poor defense got worn out.

  • Glad we won. It's possible that this type of game could end up being good for the team. The players didn't quit. Several guys stepped up with the heat on big time.

PS I despise the job that the head coach and OC do, particularly in close games. I still don't think the D is as good as many of you think, but Heater has made some improvement.

  • Two takeaways from the game in my perspective:

    1.  Legg is a conservative and non-creative play caller.

    2.  While Cato came through in the end, he can't make the throws required to be at the next level.  They've got to to do more with him and take better advantage of his skill set.

If Doc wants a long term job, addressing no. 1 will take care of no.2.

  • In the low 40s

Coach is winning off of talent plus c+ or b- offensive game planing....but thats decent considering holiday is near the beginni g of his head coaching careerr and hes never been a coordinator...he has a lot of experience to get under his belt...he might be oquite good over time....

  • Doc breaks a four-game losing streak on the road and we're a perfect 2-0 in the conf!

    Also, ECU lost to Tulane!

    Go Herd!

  • Great catches by Moo Moo and Gator. A lesson is to be learned. Put the ball in Cato's hands and let him play.  The first half slowdown was a disaster. Way to go Haig. That was clutch and huge with ECU losing.

AFA pt#1) when nerve time comes, you don't want 'creative'; you want calm execution. Agreed about "conservative" at bad times.

pt#2) I truly believe the "next level" for Cato is not the NFL, where he'd languish on the various benches & practice rosters IF he makes that; his talent set is much better suited for the Canadian game. That is NOT a dig. A lot of starting NFL QB's would not be successful in te CFL game.

  • Put the game in your players' hands. Cato said it. It is the right thing to do. I guess my computer readout (Marshall -2) was on...luckily.
