    Design #2 above.

    Make it just "The Herd"

Make the center logo just the M, exactly like on the helmets.

    Add white to coaches box/sideline.

Change endzones to Kelly with white letters/black surround.

    That should be our turf.

I like black too guys. I'm young. But we're never going to have black endzones.

  • I assume grass is cheaper...

You know what they say about "assume"??  Maintaining a natural grass playing field is labor intensive and expensive.

  • Also isn't there something about the field being below the "water table" that pretty much makes grass an automatic no?

You could say the same thing about building a city that way, and we have New Orleans.

We will get a plain Jane field that is cheap as possible. Maybe have a colored in cusa logo if we are lucky.

  • We don't need black in endzone, however, black border around "Marshall" would set it off better in the sea of green.

I made that modification to the most recent revision...

  • Looks great! Only one minor thing. Most fields with alternating greens have both sides of the 50 as the same color. Like from the 45 to the 45 (5 yards on each side of the 50.)

I think you should send this in to the AD.

That's perfect for my taste.  Nice work.  I wonder what the cost difference in that and what we have now in today's dollars would be.  I can't imagine there is THAT much difference for just adding colors and a little more planning.

  • The cost difference would be minimal if any.  I think most logos are made into the turf and not painted on.  Just design the field the way you want it.

    Great designs....

This is amazing.  I love it.  I'd outline the 20's in black, and lose the out of bounds boundary stripping and just make it solid black or white, but it's amazing as is.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering how to properly make is symmetrical. I really wish "The Herd" was more symmetrical as well. It bugs me that it extends further towards the south side, but it is unavoidable unless you put the "M" over top of some letters.

Anyway here is your fix applied...

  • To make the symmetry better, since it bothers you, make the T a wee bit larger and the ERD in Herd a wee bit smaller fontsize.  You're only talking about 5 yards difference needed and that might do it.  It'd be less noticeable than the offset I think.

  • Looks good but how about putting this at midfield.  I think this would piss off a couple WVU fans since we would be using the outline of the state.

  • Only thing I can say is, wow that's a great looking field.  Send it to Hamrick for consideration.  He seems open for fan input on improvements.
