Written by Woody WoodrumHUNTINGTON — Marshall football returned to playing for — and winning — championships on “Black Friday,” when the Thundering Herd claimed the East Division title of Conference USA with a dominating 59-28 win over East Carolina.Marshall scored 17 points to open the first quarter, adding 7 in the second, 21 in the third and 14 in the fourth, rolling up 539 yards of total offense, and controlled the time of possession with 33-minutes, 58-seconds to ECU’s 26:02.Junior quarterback Rakeem Cato passed for 2 touchdowns on 17-of-28 passing for 272 yards, and ran for 2 more scores.
