  • The fan base of 1.6 million drew this...the fan base of 200,000 drew 25,117...an opportunity to shift the bandwagon at least a little bit...

  • I love to see that. The ones thats their core fan base. The others showed up this week just to see the other team in no hole.

If the game was with students on campus and any other weekend, we get 30K plus easy. That being said, if there were only 25K there yesterday, my name is Buck Nekked and I am a porn star. 28K was more like it.

  • Well I never had a degree in statistics, but God gave me some common sense. WVU's stadium had no one in their second level, and had no one on the ends of their stadium. I wouldn't be surprised they have an announced crowd of 40-50,000.

  • If we keep winning and they don't the next series will come and the terms will be more equitable.

Much as some insist on not buying into this reality, it is a reality. I was watching the first quarter of the Florida vs FSU game yesterday. Played in Gainesville. Florida, huge national perennial powerhouse, multiple National Champion winner, big time alumni base and Gator Nation following. How could a program like that have huge sections empty. Distance shots made 50 yard line sections look full, close up shots showed reality of half the seats empty in even the most dense areas.

Why would a national powerhouse, playing their biggest in state rival have such a pitiful fan showing..........4-8. Florida is the perfect example of how winning and losing either makes for packed houses or casual fans staying home. It is how it is. If what we saw on Friday is what we can expect the rest of the year and next year, we will have the kind of respectable crowds we have been wanting to see.

  • Agree if you win they will come. Hoping the game Saturday is in Huntington with a sellout.

It would be extremely difficult to sell and distribute 38,000 tickets in 6 days.

If it is in H'ton, I think 30k, on this short notice, would be a great crowd.

Guess I was assuming there were 1.6 million fans in WV starved for some real football.

We would need to do east and west side will calls.  We have season tickets but the will call line last week was very long.

I chose the mail option when I reserved mine. If they end up hosting, I'm going to go to the ticket office tomorrow and see if I can have them print them before mailing them.

This I ^^^^^^^^ predicted last year. In fact I believe my words were "They (Eer's) would come begging to reopen the series at home and home". ;D
