HOUSTON, Tx.-Marshall sprinter Asia Bange just missed qualifying for Sunday's final of the 100 meter hurdles when her ninth-place time of 13.84 seconds was just two one-hundredths of a second adrift to lead the Herd Saturday on the third day of competition at the Conference USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The event is being held on the campus of Rice University.Marshall currently stands in 10th place with a team total of 11 points. East Carolina leads the way with 50, followed by FIU (36.5), Rice (34), Tulsa (22), UTEP (21) and Louisiana Tech (21) to round out the top five.Caitlyn Owings took 12th in the high jump with a jump of 1.61 meters, while Catika Slay's 13th-place finish in the long jump (5.72 meters) was a team best.Posting 14th-place finishes were Shanice Johnson (56.05 seconds) in the 400 meter dash and Loren Dyer (1:03.10) in the 400 meter hurdles. Johnson also notched a 16th-place finish in the 200 meter dash (24.65 seconds).Andrea Porter finished 17th in the 1500 meter run (4:45.31) and Kametra Byrd completed the 100 meter dash in 18th place (11.93 seconds).The final day of competition will begin Sunday at 4 p.m. ET/3 p.m. CT with the shot put.Full Marshall Results1500 Meter Run17.
