HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall men's basketball coach Dan D'Antoni announced Calvin "CJ" Burks of Hedgesville, W.Va., as the first signee of the 2014 recruiting class -- and the first in the D'Antoni coaching era with the Thundering Herd.The 6-foot-3 guard averaged 20 points per game for Hedgesville High in 2013-14, his senior season. Burks was named to the Class AAA All-State first team, along with making the All-State Tournament Team after Hedgesville was eliminated by Hurricane in a triple-overtime semifinal contest.In the quarterfinal round of the Class AAA State Tournament, Burks scored a game-high 25 points in a 54-49 victory over Parkersburg South. MaxPreps.com has Burks pegged as the No. 9 recruit in the state of West Virginia.A Martinsburg, W.Va., native, Burks is slated to play in the annual West Virginia North-South All-Star Game for the North squad on June 20 at South Charleston Community Center. The annual matchup is a showcase consisting of the state's top seniors.

Where did #1 thru 8 go? Swat I thought. Get the best kids regardless where from. And yeah a little insight into character is required. JUCOs are cool too if in the mold of Tinnon, Sam Ervin, Epps, Dwayne Lewis etc.
