Marshall men’s basketball signs Serbian recruit

    From staff reports

The Marshall men’s basketball team announced on its Twitter feed Tuesday night that it had signed 6-foot-5 Serbian guard Aleksa Nikolic to a letter of intent. No other information from Marshall was available as of Wednesday night.

Before coming to Marshall, Nikolic played for Kris Kros-Pancevo in Serbia, according to its website. Other players from that team in the NCAA, according to the team site, are Stefan Micovic, a sophomore at Maine, and Nikola Vujovic, who will be a freshman this season at Monmouth.

Nikolic joins Martinsburg High guard C.J. Burks, a Class AAA all-state first team pick, in this season’s signing class. And while Marshall has made no official announcement, former Miami forward James Kelly posted on Twitter that he will transfer to MU.
