  • From the HN twitter account this morning...

"@HerdNation: Marshall's RS-Freshman QB Kevin Anderson has decided to transfer to Fordham University this Fall. Let's thank him for his time for the Herd"

I'm sure Kevin a nice young man, but he was most likely going to be buried in the depth chart this season & next, at best.  Best of luck to him, I hope he takes Fordham by storm.

  • Two things that every player should know...

    1) Exactly what is expected of them
    2) Exactly where they stand in the football program

I read a thing with Coach Mirabal and he said he tells everyone of his players what they do right, what they do wrong, where they're at in the depth chart and what will make them move up or move down in the depth chart...

  • Wish him well, he just wants a chance to play.  With at least 2 new QBs coming in 2015, the competition gets ramped up big time.

  • Looks like Fordham's starting QB returns for his Senior season, but after that Mr. Anderson should have a shot.  Good luck to him.

  • Good move by him. Lov3d this kids energy, and attitude. Just does not have the talent to get into the 2 deep here right now.

    Best of luck to him.

2015 becomes a 4 horse race between Holcombe, Garvin, Birdsong & Litton.

I'd guess it's really a two person battle...

Id say he is thinking litton and birdsong. However, writing off Garvin this early is a mistake.

I was thinking Litton and Garvin. The Birdsong transfer is still a head scratcher to me.

Birdsong looks good to me from what I have seen on him. Reminds me of Blake honestly, same style QB. Litton or Garvin would have to put on a show in camp to beat him out IMO. But in no way does that mean I think he is a superstar, but the man to beat. Litton and Garvin have no college experience, $and birdsong has shown flashes of brilliance and has great size.

In my opinion there is no way they'd bring him in if they didn't think he could compete for the job. We don't have a QB on the roster besides Cato who has thrown a pass in a game. Sure Litton and Garvin look like they should be good but keep in mind by the time next year rolls around they may be a Freshman and RS Freshman. It's good to have some experience at that position and it doesn't mean they won't play down the road. Given the total uncertainly beyond Cato, I think it's a smart move.

Agreed. I think Birdsong starts and Litton redshirts. Then we'll see a battle after Birdsong is done.
