HUNTINGTON, W.Va.-Laura Bradley, a backstroke and freestyle specialist from Fredericksburg, Va., will join the Thundering Herd’s swimming/diving program this fall. Bradley is transferring from Radford University.

“We are happy to add Laura to our family here at Marshall University", coach Bill Tramel said. "Radford decided to discontinue its swimming program and Laura needed a new home. Ian Coffey, the coach at Radford, is a good friend of mine and suggested Laura would be a great fit at Marshall. Laura was a 4.0 student at Radford, so she will fit right in with our team culture."

Bradley attended Chancellor High School in Fredericksburg where she was a 2-time Virginia Group AA state championship finalist. She also is a member of the Rappahannock YMCA Swim Team and plans to major in Elementary Education at Marshall.

“I chose Marshall because it was the home away from home where I could continue my swimming career,” Bradley said. “My new coaches and teammates have made this the easiest and most welcoming transition. I could not have asked to join a better family.”

"Laura will immediately help with our depth on relays and join our army of backstrokers this fall,” Tramel added.

Bradley is the 12th member of Marshall swimming/diving’s 2014 recruiting class.
