  • You're thinking of TCU.

We had a home and home with them. The first game was nsupposed to be there and they were to come to Huntington the following year. The game in Texas was cancelled due to 9-11. We tried to insist they come to Huntington the following year and we would go there another year. They insisted we had to go to Texas first.

    Neither game was ever played.

Not what happened..........I did that deal, totally..... I negotiated it with both sides and it was my relationships with both schools that made it happen.  Neither approached the other originally about playing.  While it was the weekend of 9/11 that cancelled the first game, the "series" fell apart due to the way MU handled several things with regard to rescheduling.....MU officials simply made a mistake in how they approached TCU with options..........

  • OSU only if our "home" game is in Cincy a la Toledo's home game with them in Cleveland.

Or maybe a "home" game with a big name here in Charlotte?  ECU has played here a few times as has WVU...WVU and Tennessee open the season here in 2018.

  • Um. You lost me. Why would the MAC teams care about us getting a 1/1 w/ Bama?

OSU.  Thought you were referring to the OSU possibility not 'bama.

Have you ever seen a Florida Non-Conference schedule?  Three home games with "paid off patsies" and Florida State with an occasional Miami game thrown in.  I'll believe that one when I see it.

  • It will be a second-division program from a power conference...nobody who's regularly (as in yearly) in any Top 25...I'd say Vanderbilt...

I wonder of that would pass the "how did we do that" litmus test.

  • What bothers me most is a return game from a "how did they do that" team will most likely be bought out, so it will be all for naught

Very few teams actually buy out contracts..... usually only occurs after a coaching change when the new coach absolutely doesn't want to play the game......

Hey... a fella can dream can't he?  ;D

Keep in mind, with the new playoff guidelines SOS is very important. Maybe UF needs to get rid of some of their patsies...  :P

  • How about Oregon/Washington State, or some one like that?
The how did they do that part is "how did they get them to come to WV!?!?!?

  • I don't think this will be this announcement, but I think we need to get a series going with BYU.  They are traveling to several places our size and being independent they need games.  Would love to see us sign a deal to play them.

  • Since everyone is putting their dream games out there, I'll just say I'd love to get Notre Dame in a home and home and beat the crap out of them in both arenas.
