  • Archie Manning steps down and will not take part due to health reasons. The committee will not replace him and will operate with 12 members.

I officially brand them..... the dirty dozen.

Nothing is dirtier than the eerdiots Oliver Luck. I don't trust that piece of sh*t! if it comes down to us getting an access bowl game.

  • I assume the gov will pressure Horseface to support a WV team for access.

You are giving Luck WAY too much credit for influence on this.

Surely you aren't trying to say you expect any help for horseface; are you?

  • This is how I see it going down. Luck will recuse himself from voting when (if) Marshall is discussed. but will have a back door deal set up beforehand.  I would expect him to try to vote someone in that wouldn't get in otherwise, in exchqnge for black balling us, and another favor or two.
    Note: I'm not Eric Pinkerton.

  • I believe he said "credit for influence."

I would interpret that as, "Don't think that Luck alone would be able to sabotage the vote when 11 others with some pretty big egos are, themselves, part of the deliberation." He gets one vote. He gets a chance to argue his side, ostensibly an anti-Marshall side, if he so chooses. But in the end, it's one vote.

  • Luck has made his opinion clear about Marshall. ( wouldn't play us because it would hurt their strength of schedule) guess another excuse for fear of losing is gone. Sad he has input into this situation.

Due to political pressure Pastilong Hardesty brought our name up for big east inclusion.  He then proceeded to run us down in the discussion, then recused himself from voting.   I expect the same out of Luck.

Edit - Then president Hardesty not Pastilong.

  • Something about the presumption that Luck is Dale Carnegie reincarnate that smacks of paranoid premature whining... preparing ourselves for the worst and having some instant focus of blame if things don't go our way.

I don't pretend to know the other 11 people on the jury, but what I know of them tells me they're all going to come to the table with their own strong opinions, and worrying what influence (hypnosis?) one AD might have on the rest of them seems over the top. But maybe only to me.

You're either 12 years old or have been living in a vacuum to not think anyone associated with WVU does not simply want MU to go away in academics or athletics.  To think otherwise is ignoring a history of extremely bad behavior.

Personally, I'll think differently when they prove they want to be joint higher education stewards in the state of WV.  Until then, I will expect exactly what they've done for the past 70+ years.

  • Incoherent, philly. That's not what I said.

    What I said was...

Well, no, I'm not repeating myself...

You can go back and re-read it for yourself, but if you choose to do that, make sure you focus on the term "influence."

  • Um. I didn't go looking for you. No, you responded (in your terms "baited," I suppose) to me. And when I did reply to you, I didn't feel it necessary to dish out a question about your age or any other nonsense. All I did was point back to what I actually said, as opposed to what you thought you read. Enough said, where I'm concerned.
