HUNTINGTON — There Ryan Yurachek was, so alone in the end zone he could have pulled out a phone and text-messaged a few friends.

Marshall quarterback Rakeem Cato saw an easy opportunity to extend his streak of consecutive games with a touchdown to a major-college record 39. His short toss, like so many passes over four seasons, was on target.

Suddenly, the thought flashed across Yurachek’s mind: What if I drop this?

“It was the scariest half-second of my life, when the ball was in the air,” the true freshman tight end said Monday. “The most exciting five was when I caught it. I was wide open, and it was like a beach ball coming at me, and I’m just glad I caught it.”
