  • just makes me sick at my stomach - I want Pruett BACK!!!

Don't get me wrong my support is a FULL 110% behind Kueck or whoever gets the permanent job, but I have had 2 full days to digest this and I just can't.

     :(  :(  :(

I started following Marshall football from the early ninties when I was aroud 12, absorbing what I could from the sparse articles in the Bluefield Daily Telegrah in a sports section dominated by the Hokies and Mountaineers. I watched the I-AA national championship games on television, and like now with the departure of Donnan, I didn't know Pruett or what he could do, but he eventually became the man that I was always used to at the helm of my favorite college team.

I've seen Fairfield and I know how far we've come, and Pruett took us even further to division I-A, national television, top 25 rankings and first round draft picks.

I say all of this just to say this, which is a general consensus - I'll sorely miss him not being there on the sidelines. Good luck and God bless Coach Pruett with his retirement.
In the middle of Huntington, West Virginia, there is a river. Next to this river, there is a steel mill. And next to the steel mill, there's a school. In the middle of this school, there's a fountain. Each year, on the exact same day, the exact same hour, the water to this fountain is turned off. And in this moment, once every year, throughout the town, throughout the school, time stands still.

  • I'm going to miss Coach, as well.  My favorite Pruett quote came a few years ago when Byron led the team.  He said, when you blitz our offense sombody's band is going to play, and that band is usually ours.  I loved that swagger, and I can't wait until we can get it back.

  • Don't worry, they're going to talk about this "National Search" and come back fairly soon with our new coach from 3 hours away that will lead us to little success and few will be happy about.  From what I heard it all came down to who was friends with who.   Apparently it's almost already a done deal.  :(

  • Oh, no.

Don't say, "done deal".  That means he'll never be our coach.
