yeah, ideally we'd play 19 conference games, still no divisions, but you'd play your football division mates home/away and then the other division just once, that'd make it a bit more fair i guess.
My exact thoughts, iherdya, but you beat me to the post. I was thinking that with UAB still in the league but for football, that when they resume football play and supposedly be in the West Division, CUSA should ADD 1 bb conference game for 19 total. Then have EVERY team in West Division play EVERY team in that division TWICE, even though these "Divisions" are in football, not bball. Same for East Division teams also. Then each division team plays crossover division opponents ONCE. That equals 6 "division" opponents X 2 or 12 games plus 7 games against "non division opponents" for a total of 19. Hopefully, MU officials will propose this to league higher ups. That eliminates one OOC game that teams have to try and schedule. Also, it will END the ludicrous situation that exists this year for teams like the HERD. Do fans realize that MU plays ALL 4 TEXAS TEAMS ON THE ROAD THIS SEASON? That's 2 really long road trips in the dead of winter. Hopefully, new schedules can be devised so that MU would always have 2 Texas teams at home and 2 on the road EVERY SEASON. Same for other conference schools who face extreme east to west, and west to east, trips each year. E.G., UTEP schedule would show on trip to FL each year, with other FL school at home. League could match up the pairing of road opponents. With 19th game, teams could have flexibility to schedule one conference game earlier in year, December, before January. Teams could perhaps use that one early conference game to "pair" up another OOC game in same geographic area. Say MU plays North Texas early in season in Texas, perhaps Danny D and staff can arrange an OOC game with another non CUSA team on same "trip", TCU, A&M, Houston, etc.
