I know some positions have been filled but how many are waiting until after the bowl games to hire head coach?

According to this summary, no FBS jobs are open. Only 3 FCS jobs.

Edit: Ball State just lost their coach today. He decided to go be an assistant for Maryland.
Edit 2: Franchione also out at Texas State as of today.

The way I read that list three schools, Ill, Minn, and USC only have interim coaches. All those schools are FBS schools and the jobs are technically still open.

According to that contract, he owes Ball State $200,000 as a buyout. That payment is due within 90 days after the effective date of date of termination.
