  • Although Grobe is a Huntington guy why would he leave the ACC? What is his salary?

  • please, please, PLEASE don't let mickey come back to marshall as head coach...he averages 4.5 wins per year at division 1AA james madison, which includes his dramatically above average national championship season of 2004...he is not a strong recruiter, and if it weren't for his hire a couple of years ago of a former high school coach from hampton, it would be even worse...he has been on the hotseat for a while in harrisonburg, but last year's run has gained him some more time....we don't need a 1AA coach!

I would agree that he's not real likely, but I just listed anyone who I remembered anyone suggesting.

Regardless of his interest, Grobe would represent too much of a change, though, imo... our current roster would not seem to fit his system, so while it would make for an interesting -- and quite possibly dominant -- system to run in CUSA, I don't think any of us would want to sacrifice the 2-3 years it would probably take before it would be successful.

  • Green, who we have not been giving hardly any consideration, has just finished recruiting the #1 football class in America.

I am a Greg Adkins fan, have had the occasion to meet his family, and hope someday his name is associated with Marshall again... just not yet.

That he "just finished recruiting the #1 class" would be particularly meaningful if it was achieved anywhere but a school that has finished that way (or something arguably close to it) ever since Phil Fulmer came to power... instead, I think most of that is owed to Fulmer and the overall quality of his staff. Adkins "coordinated" but it is a misnomer to suggest that he did all of the recruiting by himself. And finally, the recruiting coordinator job is ordinarily not on the same level as one of the coordinator positions at D1a programs.
