Wish the state knew how to entice businesses like that to our 500 miles of waterfront on the Ohio River. Be cool to put an industrial air field every 40-50 miles along the river so truck transport would always be within 20 minutes of a strip. Businesses would love that ability to move product by water, air, or road. They need to do something to get businesses interested in WV.
I think it starts with not taxing business by the state. Tax the employees. It does a few things. You make money by not handing it out. You make drugs and drug dealers mostly irrelevant because people with good jobs are generally happier and don't need that crap like depressed areas do, and that saves money in treatment and enforcement. You make more money through income tax on a larger workforce. You get trickle down infrastructure and businesses to support the larger companies. You bring new money into the state instead of just passing around the same dollars with government getting a piece every time it changes hands. West Virginia needs to eliminate all business taxes and make it well-known.
