Looks like he is in the middle of a bad run at UCF. He is on the verge of having three losing years in a row.

They have had a bad run of luck with injuries last couple of yrs and are pretty young. On other hand, their SOS/RPI over last few yrs also shows many of their wins have been vs pretty bad teams. Every time I see a portion of their games on TV vs good opposition they are usually getting waxed. I never thought he was anything but an average coach but comparing him to some others we've had at MU I guess that was an upgrade.

The announcers are always talking up Taco Fall and his great hands (which he has) but he also has concrete feet:). I would say Pastner at Memphis is about done too. DJ seems to have same staff he had at MU

i checked on UCF's record a few days ago . . . at that time, there were only 3 teams below them in the AAC standings, & all 5 of UCF's AAC wins had come against those 3 teams. & needless to say, all of their OOC wins were against creme puffs, as well.

UCF (11-13) hosts Tulsa (17-9) at 2 p.m. today on CBS Sports Network.

UCF is desperate for a win, having lost seven of their last eight games.

If they do dump Donnie I’d suggest they look at Tom Herrion. I think he’d be an excellent fit for that place.

DJ's future is a hot topic on UCF boards but some still have a fixation with the Herd. An example:

DJ is a really good guy and family man. I do feel bad for him and his eventuality, but UCF isn't a charity. He's not getting it done and he knows it. He probably fits better in a lower division type school, such as Marshall.

I don't get all the hate for Donnie Jones. Donnie is one the nicest guys you would ever meet. I don't blame Donnie for cutting out, dealing with Kayo Marcum I would have cut out to.

This is true, and the way Donnie left has really turned a lot of Herd fans against him. I wish Donnie had left on different terms.

Most of us would take a lateral move to a better climate and a job paying more $$$...that's what Jones did--but it also reinforces the old cliché about "the grass not always being greener"...

I agree it's worked out best for our program that DJ left. I personally like Donnie as a person. Donnie told me a number of times of how much he loved Marshall. And truth be told, I don't think Donnie really wanted to leave here, something happened along the way.

I agree, I almost forgot about the low life ucf knights..I'm happy we now have Dan D'Antoni as coach. It all worked out for the best anyway..

There you go. There is a lot more to him leaving than Donnie and Marshall let on. Administration was happy he left before we had to pay him to leave. Instead, he paid us.

His handling of the Whiteaide team was amateur hour. He can't win. Not a good coach.

Mike and Donnie bumped heads. I know Donnie's parents and they are extremely nice people and everybody in Point Pleasant think the world of Donnie.

Donnie is a nice guy, but he is not a very good head coach. The whole situation worked out for the best for Marshall. Even though we had to endure the Herrion years, we are in good hands now.

Damn, I got a hell of a lot of bad karma for saying Donnie Jones is a good person. He truly is hated!!! hate all you want, it doesn't change my perception of Donnie as a good person. Now if you ask me (is he a good coach, no he's not.)
