Great win! We're getting so much better as a team. I love the way of defense is now playing. We're rebounding better and creating turnovers. We are doing to other teams, what they use to do to us.

This^....I was worried early on in the season about our team D and turnovers. Talk about coaching and having a great coach, wow! What a fresh turn around:)

It is amazing what Dantoni has brought in to the program. When people talked about his lack of experience as a college coach, I think they overlooked his experience in the NBA and high school level. He was able to translate that experience into the college ranks. Well done. Lets hope he continues to bring this program up.

What's truly amazing to see, is the players buying into his system are a very discipline group. Remember how a simple free throw couldn't be made from previous Herd teams... now it's like automatic!

Yes. I always had faith in his ability to teach the game. He has done an awesome job. We still have a ways to go like he said, but we are off to a great start in bringing back Herd basketball!! It is fun again for everybody from the players, to coaches, to the fans. Thanks Coach D!!!

I don't care if I get bashed for this but I believe this is the best "coached" hoops team I've seen at MU.

This my friends, is a program on the rise. And I think Danny has a keen eye for the type of kid that will buy in.

Our first half tonight was way below our average half of basketball. With an average first half we would have REALLY thumped the Monarchs. I love this team.

I'm going to throw a little reality into this from my perspective tonight.

Team is really fun to watch. Alley-oops, 3-pointers, assists, behind the back passes, etc.
Rebounding hussle seems good. Rebounding in itself could use more precise effort. All the slapping at the ball teams do now-a-days drives me nuts.

We do not defend the paint well at all. We hussle on the outside, but leave wide open lanes, or let the ball get passed inside with little to no effort to defend inside the circle.

I'm all for out scoring opponents (if we'd have hit the first half like we did the second it would have been even more out of hand), and I'm all for fun offense. It sells tickets.
But when we play a team that is big, and plays inside, we don't have the defense for that.
If we can continue to move the ball offensively and keep players moving and finding the open man, an open 3-pointer is the same no matter who you are playing. And hussle is exceptional.
Love the team and fun to watch. Great effort.

Just need to defend the paint better. Too many easy, easy baskets.

Talking recruiting, I think are going to watch this style and want to play in a system like this. It's fun basketball. Plus they will see the way D'Antoni treats the players and the way players improve playing for him. We're in for a fun ride.

Also, it's really good to see Duhon back. Hope he has turned it around. He's a huge asset to this team.

1st practice I saw in preseason I thought these guys were miles better than last yr., and in my head I thought: these guys can go .500 or a game better in CUSA play and maybe win 14-15 games despite the tough schedule. To be where they are after just 4 months..? Simply AMAZING! I just get mad every time I think about hiring Herrion instead of getting Danny back 4-5 yrs. ago. Just a great effort tonight, great crowd, great defense, just GREAT!

DD was a still to be decided issue at seasons start but anyone knew that sight unseen Kelly, Elmore and Browning would be an infusion of talent. We had very little talent last yr and won eleven so 15 wins wasn't going out on the limb very far. But still the coaching and how it all came together was unpredictable and IS wonderful. Burks a very nice surprise(his film was impressive however). Its great when we can all be on board at the same time.

Felt the same way about Snyder's hiring. On the other hand hindsight always play a role, we didn't know Herrion and Snyder where going to be disasters for us.

Coach D is a great coach.
All he needed was time to get players to buy in.
Now he has turned things around.
A year ahead of schedule, imo.

Now imagine what he'll do with another recruiting class under his belt.
