I believe there is an article stating no charges will be filed vs players and all 4 SR were back playing recently.

From what I've read and pieced together based on all the suspensions Bledsoe was either the victim (also guilty of exposing self) or the player who only exposed himself

Sounds like "not pressing charges" may just be a technicality.  Not sure when athletes decided they all wanted to start sexually assaulting each other but it seems this disturbing stuff happens more and more often.

The Ohio County Prosecutor's Office was asked to review an investigatory report submitted by the Ohio County Sheriff's Office regarding the incident involving members of the Wheeling Park boy's basketball team that occurred on January 26.

After reviewing the results of the investigation conducted by the Ohio County Sheriff's Office, the prosecutor's office is not recommending criminal charges be filed against any individuals involved.

Official details have been limited on what happened, but it did prompt the school to suspend four of the players and post-pone a game against Brooke.

The Ohio County Sheriff's Office investigated and Prosecutor Scott Smith studied their report.

He says he had to consider three things:
Jurisdiction - It would have to have happened in Ohio County. (Not just on a bus somewhere between Morgantown and Ohio County.)
Evidence - Evidence that would show guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
Charges - A victim who wanted to pursue criminal charges.

"Once we determined we don't have jurisdiction, the analysis ends," said Smith. "This should not be construed to suggest the Ohio County Prosecutor's Office concluded a crime or crimes had been committed."

Rumors about what happened on a bus carrying Wheeling Park High School basketball players Jan. 26 ran rampant after initial reports of sexual misconduct. Because the boys are students, school officials will say little about the case.


But a serious crime allegedly occurred. As a story on page one of today's newspaper explains, a report by the Ohio County Sheriff's Department includes an allegation that one of the players was placed in a chokehold by another, while a third sat on the player's knees, pulled his pants down and touched his genitalia.

But there will be no further investigation in Ohio County. Nor will charges be filed here - because that alleged crime and others, including four players allegedly exposing their own private parts while on the bus, apparently occurred elsewhere.
   
Ohio?County Prosecutor Scott Smith said his office looked into the matter enough to determine the alleged offenses did not occur in Ohio County. He has no jurisdiction.

Whatever happened was on a school bus traveling between Morgantown and Wheeling. If it did not occur in Ohio County, the location must have been Monongalia County, Washington County, Pa.; or Greene County, Pa. That means any continuing investigation probably is up to the authorities in one of those counties.

If a serious crime occurred - and assault such as that reported is serious - the appropriate law enforcement agencies simply must pursue the matter.

Authorities in the three counties where the alleged assault occurred should work with Ohio County to look into the matter. As a first step, jurisdiction will have to be established.

Then, if merited, a charge or charges should be filed in the case.

Letting the situation "go away" merely because the local prosecutor lacks jurisdiction is not acceptable. Justice cannot be allowed to stop at county or state lines.

Wheeling Park's basketball team ate dinner in Wheeling on Jan. 26 before boarding a bus for a trip to Morgantown to watch WVU play Kansas State, a game the Mountaineers won by a 70-55 score.

Postings on social media show many of the players and coaches who attended the game, and photographs taken at the WVU Coliseum show a group of young men having a good time while watching a basketball game.

Much of the return trip was what one would expect from a group of 15- to 18-year-olds. However, at some point, according to video from the bus' on-board cameras, one of the players pulled down his pants, exposing himself as he stood in the aisle.

Another player followed suit, exposing himself before urinating in a bottle, then capping the bottle and tossing it on the floor. All of this was recorded by the video system, and viewed after the fact by Clatterbuck, Ohio County Schools Superintendent Dianna Vargo, Athletics Director Dwaine Rodgers, head coach Michael Jebbia, assistant coach Terry Payne and Wheeling Park administrators Katrina Lewis and Stephanie Bugaj.

At some point after those incidents took place, things took another turn, when one of the players who was seen exposing himself on video was allegedly assaulted by two others. According to Clatterbuck's report, one player put the alleged victim in a choke hold from behind while another sat on his legs, pulled down his pants and allegedly fondled his genitals.

All of this happened without the coaches or other chaperones on the bus being aware.

seeing as how he's a SR, i guess we shouldn't really expect much leadership from this kid.  personally, i don't really know how you can honor his scholly & still claim you judge character 1st, then look at talent.  i mean, what kinda character is it to pull down your pants & show your junk to a fellow player in the context of trying to shame him.

& i'll even throw this out there . . . he signed a LOI w/us.  as far as i'm concerned, his conduct now reflects upon the university.  IF his name being associated w/this incident ever becomes public knowledge, you can rest assure the fact that he's "signed to play for Marshall University" will be part of the media coverage.

this is waaaaaaaay worse than what chris duhon did.  if duhon's behavior was worthy of a suspension, then . . .

Excellent question Quickstrike.  If an adult was on board the bus like there should have been then this person should have some hell to pay.  As a teacher and one who has been on bus trips with kids there was always at least two of us on board and we were very vigilant with our supervision. It should have never got to this point. >:(

to me, while I wouldn't do it myself, the two exposers here is really nothing.  one kid pissed in a bottle, one pulled his tallywhacker out for the hell of it?  I mean it would be different if he did it in the library or on main street.  The two who were the assaulters? yes, that's weird and I'd question MU admitting him if he were one of those kids.  but he is either the victim or the other dude who pulled it out on an all male team bus.  weird but thinking back to locker rooms in the 80s when I was in school, stuff happens.
