  • considering we've had "freedom" significantly longer than any of those countries, i'm not sure your post holds any water.
All the countries were formed in different ways with different constitutions and cultures.  The rate at which you move toward socialist democracy is not key here.  The fact you eventually move towards a debt ridden nanny state with high levels of people dependent on govt is key.  It holds water the only question is did you vote Bernie or Hillary?  Both are socialist only one admits it

the fact that you believe hillary is a socialist, or anything of the sort, just further leads me to question your understanding of any of this...

    She's not a true capitalist...she's a crony capitalist.

And how about her hypocrisy to the coal miners last week. We're going to shut down your industry...but we will spend 30M to retrain you to do others things.  BS.   She acts like there are hundreds of manufacturing companies and others eager to relocate to the hollers of WV.  Any retraining done would still mean those people would have to move out of state to earn a living.  If they were serious about retraining, they would have started it long before they started passing the environmental regulations.
"Too many people are thinking of security instead of opportunity; they seem more afraid of life than of death"  – James F. Byrnes

Government is the most dangerous institution known to man. Throughout history it has violated the rights of men more than any individual or group of individuals could do: it has killed people, enslaved them, sent them to forced labor and concentration camps, and regularly robbed and pillaged them of the fruits of their expended labor. ~ JOHN HOSPERS

No WV mining jobs will be retained to do other things, unless it is something that pays much less. Those are just empty promises by Hillary to get the heat off her for now. Those jobs will disappear because her party supports the view that the coal industry is "dirty", and the coal miners of WV are unimportant working people.

  • Most of the educated people I know from the coal fields know coal is essentially dead...

Hillary's position on all this was basically taking their jobs suddenly and taking a decade and $30 billion to continue to empower the welfare state until 'new nobs can be put into place' forgetting people tend to move away from working after 10 years of workers comp...tends to condition the mind differently.

I do not think Trump lied when he said be was going to help out coal BUT he is likely going to make a half assed attempt at it since EPA is going go basically shut down anything he does...unless he could strike a deal with the EPA disallowing regulations for a 7-10 year span to allow coal to be profitable enough to economically sustain the region enough to phase out a generation of miners and utilize alternative jobs permanently.
He would then sell the new generations on said jobs with selling points, "this is safer than mining" "its a job, thats whats important" etc...also reminding them that coal was shut down because it isnt profitable.

Essentially saying, 'Look, I know I promised you gold. Here is silver...take it or leave it.'
Finally, he then forces WV to give tax breaks to companies to come in...makes it all public so the state is to blame if they shoot it down. Over the span of time, the company taxes increase till they cap off at a limit with a percentage of profit going directly to the county within...allowing funding for schools, roads, etc.

Since JJ seems to want to emulate Trump...Trump will convince him to open businesses up to WV.

Thats about the only thing I can see him doing that may work...

As for Sanders...a Socialist who is getting obliterated by Socialism...how does he win WV so convincingly yet the delegates are divided up almost evenly? Cause Hillary sat on her ass and did nothing yet got equal portions.

Where have we heard that before???

  • Democrats need voters. How do they do that? By creating dependency on the govt. Hillary, who is probably the most dishonest person on the planet, does rake in millions from Wall Street. But, make no mistake about she likes big government which creates dependency. Bigger govt means more welfare, more handouts, more nanny state, more govt workers, and the list goes on. Then, people vote because they are dependent upon that. People like her and even Bernie take advantage of that. It is also why they play the race card and class warfare.

The problem with our country is that we are getting away from what made us great and we have created a segment of the population that is dependent upon this big massive government.

I feel sorry for my kid and grandkids and future generations. At some people we will pass the point of no return which we may already have.

nah, you said, "Overtime - freedom allows liberal ideas and "progressive" agendas to creep in and ruin the country.  Just look at western Europe which we seem to want to emulate."

that statement says basically "western europe is an example of how overtime freedom allows liberal ideas and progressive agendas to ruin countries." yet, european countries largely into the 20th century weren't republics with freedom, they were countries ruled by monarchs.
