  • If you simply went by that, then an 11-2 record will be the result.

Although we have to play the games, I feel that either an 11-2 or 12-1 record could be the result this year. With the addition of a couple run stoppers in the middle, Marshall can make huge gains on the defensive side of the ball.

  • I think this will be a 9-3 season...may win one that I thought we might not but we do seem to lose one I thought we should win.

  • So many 100+ on our schedule.  This conference...

6 of the 11 teams on the schedule are #100 or worse.  That doesn't include Morgan State who is probably worse than all of them.  So 7 of 12 games are against REALLY bad teams.

Honestly if Doc can go 3-2 against teams with a pulse its 10 wins.  Looking like anything less is a failure.

  • wow...we must be doing something right. All those 100 teams have better funding and much bigger student enrollments. Yet we are the only G5 to win 10 last three yrs.

Your comments may be true when it comes to their universities as a whole, but our football program is very well taken care of in comparison to other CUSA teams and most of the G5.

  • With student enrollments way up in the 30 thousands I don't figure FAU or FIU FB is starving and I haven't read any horror stories about cut backs at any other CUSA schools like the one we just had on this board about Marshall. Ditto UCF who had trouble winning a game last yr. And they have the biggest student body(money) in FBS. So I figure we are doing more with less.

  • What really sux is that only one game is slated for ESPN and two for CBS Sports Network.  Two are on beIN sports, which I think is available in most packages, but Six are on American Sports Network and that was iffy last year if I recall.  Might not be good for outlying chapters to get the games.

Last year was ASN's inaugural year.  I'm sure they learned from some things and I imagine Sinclair has set up their networking for ASN better.  Last year I remember a lot of affiliates were supposed to air sports and didn't, etc.  I think it'll be better by a magnitude this year.  I hope so anyway.

  • BHFIOHIO, I can't help it, but every time I hear or see the phrase "doing more with less", I can't help wondering if that is another way of saying Kayo Marcum's "slow dime versus a fast nickel", or versa visa, so to speak!! ;D

Student body numbers don't mean anything...just because you're a big school does not necessarily make you better.

UCF's endowment, for example, is a PITIFUL $155 million...barely $50 million more than us...and they have 4 times the student body. How does that happen?
How is it that UCF isn't a contender in anything as of late? Football? Give them their few winning seasons...now look at them.
But what else? Basketball? Surely you can't be serious on that. Baseball? Competitive...but once more...with the supposed large student body, you'd think the money went into the athletics more.
    It doesn't.
You'd think with that money, it'd be flowing into the AD and they'd be winning everything.
They aren't...and they are another bad season away from being totally forgotten in their own state. Let's not forget how overshadowed they are when compared to Florida as a whole.
Yes, they won a BCS bowl game, good job, best team they had in years...
Then totally began to regress...how does that happen?
How does a team just a few years from a BCS win...suddenly NOT win any games at all?
Oh yeah, it's because nobody really cares about UCF.

How must they feel, as a whole, to have put together a lovely little video to the Big 12 and get totally crapped on? They aren't even a finalist at this point...and the very school they dogged...UC...IS!!!

Plus, where in the hell are they ranked after that horrible season?

A year or two ago someone posted a pic  (i think it was FIU's) with FIU and their logo on the tail of a jet and the jet was in the school colors so if they chartered it for the year or whatever it was some serious money spent. Wish The Herd could have  a kelly green jet with logo on the charter  they use for away games.

Actually, this will be ASN's third year coming up and 3rd season of CUSA FB and BB

UCF is a fairly young school. Haven't been a university that long. Heck, we've only had university status since 1961.

And last season was the worst imo. The previous two seasons they streamed every game online as well as on their stations. Last year they did not stream the games on their site.

One area it should make a difference is in student fees.  The more students, the more fees that are generated.  So from that point we are competing uphill as one of the small enrollments in FBS.

ucf received almost as much from student fees last year as we received from all sources of revenue. so yeah, enrollment size DOES make a difference.

  • Having our schedule ranked #37 is pretty important. Hopefully it will be in that range on the ranking that matter at the end of the season.

That would go a long ways in helping us with gain the Access Bowl.

Actually, in year one they streamed "selected" games not all..... not even close to all.

Last year very few games were streamed, that is correct.

Look for more streaming options this year, but still, ASN is behind the curve in that.  Many games will be streamed on E3 this year but not all, and not CUSA games at this point.
