  • Use to belong to the Glenbrier back in the day.  The holes closest to the river saw some flood water....
Numbers 9, 8 on the lower portions, and maybe a little on 4 closest to Rt. 2 on the west end of the
    course.

Ah, the Glenbrier....back in the day (1963-1970) priceless.
Retired 10 years early to follow Herd sports.
Those 10 years have been marvelous.

  • I have a question:

I used to live across the river, only slightly down river, from where the field is back when it was part of the Glenbriar golf course. I seem to remember that part of the course frequently flooded. Is that the case?

the field is about 400-500 feet from the river and it's hard to tell from the overhead google satellite image, but it sits up on a mound from the lower level closer to the river.

  • If they are going to put 3-4 Mil. in that place, that's crazy. No one will drive to watch - certainly not the students. Why not put that 3-4 million towards buying the property and clean up for the area behind the softball field. That to me seems the best location other than ACF, which may never happen. Buying that property should be cheap - no one would ever use it. jmo

Then charge St Joe rent on the Kennedy Center field for their baseball team. They sure as hell have the money to pay it.

my thought is the same as you, people won't go out there to our games, and if we put $5m (the number i heard) into it that will basically kill the idea of a better option closer to campus for the next 20 years.
