  • I probably won't go to the trouble to take some of that action, but I would take some of that action.

  • I am not familiar with the + and - on an over/under.  Is that a $125 bet on over gets you $100 and a $100 bet on under gets you $105?

  • Does this include potential conference championships and bowl games too?

    I think Vegas would put the O/U, NOT including a bowl game, at 8.

    Something like:

    09/10/16   vs. Morgan State TV   Huntington, W.Va.   6:00 p.m. ET: MARSHALL 100%
    09/17/16   vs. Akron TV   Huntington, W.Va.   12:00 p.m. ET: MARSHALL 80%
    09/24/16   vs. Louisville TV   Huntington, W.Va.   8:00 p.m. ET: MARSHALL 40%
    10/01/16   at Pittsburgh   Pittsburgh, Pa.   TBA: MARSHALL 25%
    10/08/16   at North Texas * TV   Denton, Tx.   7:00 p.m. ET: MARSHALL 70%
    10/15/16   vs. Florida Atlantic (Homecoming) * TV   Huntington, W.Va.   7:00 p.m. ET: MARSHALL 90%
    10/22/16   vs. Charlotte * TV   Huntington, W.Va.   5:30 p.m. ET: MARSHALL 95%
    10/29/16   at Southern Miss * TV   Hattiesburg, Ms.   7:00 p.m. ET: MARSHALL 40%
    11/05/16   at Old Dominion * TV   Norfolk, Va.   7:00 p.m. ET: MARSHALL 70%
    11/12/16   vs. Middle Tennessee * TV   Huntington, W.Va.   7:00 p.m. ET: MARSHALL 70%
    11/19/16   at FIU * TV   Miami, Fla.   7:00 p.m. ET: MARSHALL 70%
    11/26/16   vs. Western Kentucky * TV   Huntington, W.Va.   TBA: MARSHALL 50%

    JMO, same as it ever was

    I am curious if these totals include conference championship games and bowl games. Conf. championship games are rare for teams and don't matter as much to the bookmakers odds overall (although they matter a lot for top teams), but bowl games are exceedingly not rare and add 0.3 win on average - enough to make a big difference overall.

  • This is a regular season win total.  Conference championships and bowls don't count.  It's dead on IMO.

    In 2014, we had the highest total in the nation along with a few others.

    I dunno, id day we win 9 this season comfortably, 10 is my prediction if we take down Louisville. But man, if our offense gets back to form this season, we could win em all with this team.

    I also think it is possible to win them all. Not having a bye week is going to hurt for sure.

    Luckily we have a 3 week stretch of @North Texas, FAU, Charlotte. The FAU team will definitely be the toughest of these opponents, and it is at home. I look for this to be a great opportunity to rest any banged up players in the middle of our season.

    Then we have @ODU and @FIU in between our 3 hardest conference games to end the season.

    @So Miss
    @ODU
    MTSU
    @FIU
    WKU

    Not having a bye week could have turned out much worse imo.

    Back to winning them all. No doubt Louisville is going to be ranked, and maybe even Top 10 if they are undefeated. We do have them at home and catch them at the perfect time. IF we pull it off it could be huge.

    Imagine Marshall going undefeated, and Louisville wins the ACC with their only loss all season being to Marshall. We wouldnt get it, but we would definitely be in the discussion for a playoff bid.

  • I don't know, man.  Have we ever won a game in Texas?  I mean we've lost to some crappy teams in Texas, when we weren't that bad.  I think we've somewhat turned a corner on wtf road losses, but Texas seems to be a whole other animal.

    I know some people poopoo at the idea of leaving a day earlier for Texas games, but I still firmly believe if we have a game across the country we need to head out Wed night, Thurs morning at the latest for a Saturday game.  I think it will pay huge dividends on the field.

  • Louisville is going to be the toughest out we have by far...they are a top 10 team in most predictions.  I see 8 or 9 wins but not 10.

    One of Doc's teams in his first couple of seasons beat Rice in Houston in a shootout.  Otherwise we are a big "0-fer" in the Lone Star state.  On the other hand, NO team from Texas has ever won in Huntington!!

    At was at the win over Rice a few years ago and I will be at the UNT game this year to see the winning streak in Texas continue. Unfortunately I was also at all the losses we suffered in Texas too...  :(

    There are limitations set by the NCAA as to how early you can arrive prior or how long you can stay after a game.
