  • Last night on ESPNU they were replaying their top 25 games of 2015.  Being desperate for "Some Football" I watched their game #21 Houston at home against Memphis.  It sure is amazing how far those two programs have come.  Houston's new stadium is really nice.  You Know I don't think we could have beaten either of those teams last season. Both offenses put up a ton of points.  I just don't think we could have scored enough points to have beaten either of those teams.  Also last night on the scroll across the bottom a squib came across saying that the two schools rumored for Big 12 expansion are BYU and Houston.

    Bob Marcum, is that you?

UConn beat up Houston...Marshall beat UConn...Houston beat Memphis...

Oh, neither could very easily be NOT picked for the Big 12.
Imagine for a second...the utter discouragement if that happens...
A pair of schools with 1 year of success...make their case to a conference with more choke games than major won games from said 2 teams.
They get left out...as if their non-existent fanbases have any more reason to not see them, they will after that.

Tom is far from being Bob Marcum. That's a supreme "insult" to my friend and a true die hard Herd fan.

Dude, TRS is a great guy and fan. You need to understand this board has a variety of opinions and nothing is gospel. Chill.

  • Our defense, specifically our pass defense, was far superior to either Houston or Memphis.  Neither had a QB as good as Doughty or Stockstill.  Lynch was similar to Mullens, just bigger.  He held the ball too long, too often.  We would have been competitive against both teams and, I believe, beaten both of them in Huntington.  Probably would have lost to both on the road.

  • Bob Marcum, Man I had to laugh at that one.  I was always told not to compare scores.  Anyhow as Banker said I believe we would have lost to both of them on the road last year.  At home I think it would have been more competitive.  Houston was playing with their third string qb in that game and still scored 35 points.    Oh well I was just needing a football fix last night.  Let's get this season underway and see how things pan out.  I would love to see us get both the MTSU and WKU games at home.  It is imperative that we at least split.  Losing both at home would really suck.  Of the two the MTSU game concerns me the most.  Their qb is really good.

Sometimes you need to realize that things are better left in your thoughts and not on the computer screen.

+1 Huff, applies to my late night posts as well.

Patience is a virtue & waiting until the AM to post is advised.... ;D

TRS, their qb is good, no question.  But can't help but feel that our D may be a "lot better" this season, and deeper at a lot of spots.  Hopefully our pass rush will be improved also- - almost a necessity in a league with some good passing attacks.

To me, the most disappointing loss last season was the game at MTSU.  Despite their qb and offensive attack, Herd would have won it a couple of times without a complete meltdown of our placekicking (field goal attempts) game.  Can't see a repeat of that at the Joan (I hope!).
