  • Listen, the 2nd half is the way we should play football. Successful or not, seeing us play to win, going for it on 4th and short, onside kicks to catch them off guard, throwing incompletions all day over the top, going for 2, i will GLADLY accept a winning effort even when we do not win. I LOVED THE 2ND HALF tonight. I was jumpimg and cheering in section 510. Even though we lost, i could walk out and feel ok about it.

Thats how Doc needs to play out of the gate. The 1st half we played terrible, becausr we were coached and led with terrible calls and a play to keep it close mentality. We dug too deep a hole to get out of. We should have left Pittsburgh winners tonight, but as long as Doc and this staff play with the philosophy that we did in the 2nd half, I am good with it.

We have to play to win, not play to keep it close/not to lose. No more punts inside the opponemts 40 ever, on 4th and short.

  • God. Really now. Is it too much to ask that Foregone Conclusion would be hired as the next OC? I mean, the sooner the better for all concerned, no? Doesn't have to be for more than a game or two. Please. Let it be.

You might be surprised to see sturt. A few toss sweeps, flea flicker, actually using our TEs in the seam. Encouraging Litton to pull it and run a couple times a game. Few post and corner routes for receivers, no 5 yard patterns when its 3rd and 10.

It would be like playing xbox with our talent. Sign me up. Or i could go leggs route, ignore all that talent, and run zone reads and go routes the whole game.

WRs got to realize too though that on 3rd and 9 that a typical 7 or 8-yard pattern needs to be extended a couple of yards. Too many times last night we ran patterns and caught balls a yard or two shy of the first down and killed drives.

That falls back on coaching though.

It does and we talked about it last night. But honestly, that shouldn't have to be coached at this level. That's a fundamental of the WR position.

You are correct, but it still has to be coached at this level.

Do we not do any type of situational practicing?

I am guessing yes, but obviously it isn't enough. Still, if our playbook was deeper than half a page, you would have some calls in there where the routes were all designed to pick up x amount of yards. Even some pick plays and crossing routes to confuse the dbs on who has coverage. It doesn't happen.

Yes, you're a legend. Few people could bring the knowledge, innovation and credibility that you can bring. I'm on board. Sign me up too.  I want to see this. Please, God. Make it so.

Who else is with me and ol FC on this?
