  • Yet Solich consistently beats Doc head-to-head with a team full of players Doc wouldn't even think about recruiting.

cherry picking 4 games out of 100s the two men have coached isn't a reliable way to determine who is better/worse.

I'd gladly do an even trade of Doc for Solich, any day of the week.

you'd gladly trade for a coach who on average at ohio has won 7 games a year? jesus.

You'd be saying the EXACT same thing about him at this time of the year...actually, you would have left the MU program because Solich has had FIVE YEARS MORE than Doc and hasn't accomplished nearly what Doc has.
Okay, Solich beats 1 rival from a lesser conference a year, fails to eclipse 10 wins one time, and can't win his own conference (blundering away a 20 pt lead in one of them).

Yeah, something tells me you really do not want Solich.

  • And before the season even begins the wheels keep turning...or falling off. Maybe players that wouldn't have made a difference but regardless whether it was the player leaving on their own or Doc's head games what has happened to loyalty, honor and ethics? This isn't a video game. There are countless hours of investment and scholarships given to some that end up leaving over others that would be thankful to play for the HERD.

Are the wrong administration decisions being made on who to recruit? Are these unforseen mishaps?

Loyalty... where's it at these days?

  • The guys we lost had big potential.  It's too bad.

  • Which is why I say we need to recruit VA and Ohio harder.  And why is it that the GA guys turn out better than most of the Fla guys?

Bottom line is you can't build the experience, continuity, and depth needed to win when you have that much attrition.

To be honest, I'm tired of the speculation.  We'll know soon enough whether we are pretenders or contenders. I think everyone is hoping for the later.
"Too many people are thinking of security instead of opportunity; they seem more afraid of life than of death"  – James F. Byrnes

Government is the most dangerous institution known to man. Throughout history it has violated the rights of men more than any individual or group of individuals could do: it has killed people, enslaved them, sent them to forced labor and concentration camps, and regularly robbed and pillaged them of the fruits of their expended labor. ~ JOHN HOSPERS

  • One of my favorite sports sayings is "The most important ability a player can have is availability".

It doesn't matter how big, fast, strong, smart, etc. a player is, if he's not on the field he isn't going to help you one darn bit.

Certain people believe that losing a player before he ever sees the field is no loss, but taking Owens as a prop more than likely meant that we took one less WR in the 2017 class than we would have if he wasn't here propping.  Our kicking cupboard will be completely bare at the end of this season. We either have to go JUCO or we'll see a lot of true freshman kicking the ball around next year.

Roster says two more kickers on the team, a freshman and a redshirt freshman.

Rumor says one or both out kicked Cole. If it's true, he saw the handwriting and decided to head for a more probable scholarship.
